Job Summary
The Role
The Assistant to the President serves as the central coordination point for the division's executive leadership, providing sophisticated administrative and operational support that enables leaders to remain focused on strategy, growth, and patient-centered care.
This role requires independent judgment, exceptional discretion, and the ability to manage complex and sensitive work with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as a trusted partner to the President, COO, and executive cabinet, supporting the daily operational rhythm of a complex healthcare division.
* Proactively manage highly complex calendars, scheduling, travel, and logistics across multiple executives, balancing competing priorities and anticipating needs.
* Coordinate and support high-visibility meetings, board and committee sessions, executive presentations, and speaking engagements, including preparation of agendas, materials, minutes, and follow-up actions.

The Boston Children's Hospital Dermatology Program provides care for children and adolescents with all forms of congenital and acquired disorders of the skin, nails, hair, and mucous membranes. The primary goal of the medical scribe is to reduce administrative burden on the physician, improve accuracy/timeliness of medical documentation, and optimize provider ability to spend more time interacting with patients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Accompany providers throughout the entire patient medical appointment, either virtually or on-site, ensuring presence in the visit is not disruptive.
* Transcribe interactions during the appointment into a high-quality, comprehensive preliminary note for physician sign-off, which can include but is not limited to:
* Patient history
* Review of systems
* Family/social histories
* Medication listings
* Allergies
* Physical examination findings and procedures
* Pertinent imaging/lab study results
* Time
* Treatment/follow-up plans.
* Send all preliminary documentation for physician review promptly.
* Make any necessary amendments/changes to approach based on physician feedback and regularly incorporate feedback provided into future notes to yield noticeable improvements.
* Develop a close working relationship with providers pairings in-depth knowledge of their preferences. Incorporate these preferences into transcribed notes, maintain documentation of provider preference grids, and communicate with providers directly in the mode, frequency, and time they prefer.
* Maintain a repository of historical/current physician templates/dot phrases; incorporating updates/changes as needed to ensure it is up-to-date and readily accessible.
* Attend department meetings as needed or directed to optimize ability to stay up-to-date with initiatives that will improve physician workflows and implement changes as directed by administrative management. Communicate with administrative management and/or assigned physicians to troubleshoot any potential discrepancies.
* Assist with other administrative clerical duties related to factors affecting physician clinics to improve physician workflow as assigned.
Schedule will be Monday through Thursday 10 hours per day.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
* High School Diploma/GED required
* Associate's degree in health science or another medical field preferred
Experience:
* Medical Terminology and Procedures: Understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnostic tests to accurately transcribe patient interactions.
* Transcription: Ability to accurately transcribe patient interactions into comprehensive preliminary notes for physician review.
* Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness of transcribed notes, including patient history, medications, and examination findings.
Licensure/ Certifications:
* Certified Medical Scribe Professional CMSP Preferred
The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
