As Lead Surgical Technologist, you will provide leadership and guidance to assigned surgical technologists in the operating room, ensuring optimal performance, efficiency, and quality outcomes under the supervision of the Surgical Manager and Coordinator/Assistant, while also assisting with surgical technologist duties as needed. A caregiver in this position works from 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. OR 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with on-call requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will: * Monitor, direct and oversee the activities of assigned Surgical Technologists in the OR. * Perform duties of a Surgical Technologist as needed. * Provide patient care in the OR by performing in a scrub role. * Assist in the circulating role as needed. * Collaborate with SPD to maintain instruments and specialty trays. * Provide performance documentation. * Assume department leadership in the absence of the supervisor. * Review surgical schedules and service line shift reports daily to ensure resources are available for surgical procedures. * Seek ways to eliminate errors, reduce turnaround time, maintain workflow and improve service. * Perform and oversee precepting. Completion of military surgical technology program will meet the requirements of an accredited Surgical Technology Program.
