Job Description
Home Health Aides at Senior Helpers provide personal care services for our clients that enable them to safely and comfortably remain in their homes. Caregiver duties include helping clients with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, eating, grooming and toileting. Examples include:
Companionship (playing games, talking, going for walks)
Light housekeeping, including laundry
Meal planning and preparation
Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as showering, eating, and grooming
Transfer assistance between bed, chairs, wheelchairs, etc.
Transportation to appointments and errands
Medication reminders
Qualifications Needed:
Previous professional experience (with an agency or a care facility) providing personal care services.
Valid driver's license or government-issued photo ID
Clear Level 2 Background Screen from the State of Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA). Information about the Level 2 background screen can be found here: Clearinghouse Education and Awareness
Be at least 18 years of age
Have an active CPR certification form an in-person, hands-on course.

Provide physical therapy services to patient according to a physician's written orders. This may include, but is not limited to the following:
Assess and evaluate therapeutic/rehabilitative/functional status.

Participate in the development of the patient's total plan of treatment.
Assess the facility environment, especially as it relates to fall risk, interventions, and safety.

EDUCATION

Compliant with continuing education, if required by state as a condition of maintaining licensure.
SKILLS/ABILITIES

WORKING CONDITIONS

May be required to respond to emergency situations. Position includes tasks that have the potential for exposure to blood and other potentially infectious material (OPIM) such as body fluids/tissues.
PPE: May include gloves, mask, eye/face protection, and disposable outer covering or lab coat.
Must be able to stand walk, squat, bend, kneel, crouch, lift, reach, twist, push and pull. Varied assistance is required depending on the ability of the patient. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. Visual and hearing acuity required.
Limited travel as needed for various staff and patient care service needs.
