Summary: Burgess Services, a second-generation, privately-owned Construction Management Firm based in Denver, CO, is seeking a dedicated Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Supervisor. The HSE Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and implementing the organization's health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure project compliance with regulatory requirements as prescribed by the owners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following, as other duties may be assigned:
Conduct safety orientation sessions for all employees, on-site workers and representatives.
Inform employees of their safety rights and responsibilities per regulations and the manual.
Coordinate and lead weekly safety meetings (toolbox talks).
Assist and participate field meetings when requested.
Coordinate and lead monthly safety meetings for supervisors (as needed).
Engage in Job Hazard Analysis and Pre-Task Planning, reviewing subcontractors' safety programs.
Teach employees, all site workers regulatory training, special safety procedures as required by OSHA and the ROCIP IV manual.
Assess project employees', subcontractors and on-site workers adherence to safety rules and standards.
Conduct emergency action plans training.
Maintain and retain OSHA, state, federal, company, and project-specific documents for the project duration or as legally required.
Lead and investigate incidents and near misses, perform causal analysis, and distribute corrective actions within 72 hours. Provide written reports for all recorded incidents as required per Safety Manual.
Complete daily inspection reports and audits.
Maintain training documentation.
Record and maintain drug test results for all project employees and respond to drug test audits within 24 hours.
Respond to other safety documentation audit requests within 72 hours.
Authorized to take immediate corrective action, including stopping work; deemed a "competent person" by OSHA.
Implement, maintain, update, interpret, and enforce safety policies and procedures as required.
Model proper safety behavior.
Ensure Contractor management enacts disciplinary action in response to unsafe behavior.
Ensure adequate first aid supplies.
Coordinate and facilitate injury treatment for all on-site workers, provide modified duty within restrictions, and check in with injured employees weekly.
Inform DEN ROCIP Safety Team and Project Manager immediately of all injuries, including First Aid after ensuring treatment and securing the site and of any current or potential safety issues.
Provide injured employees with the Designated Medical Provider list before non-emergency or follow-up treatment, ensuring they choose an authorized facility and return the signed form. If an employee denies treatment, or they only wish to receive first aid on site, they must indicate so on the Designated Medical Provider Form, sign, date, and return it.
File the first report of injury with the insurance carrier within 12 hours of any employee seeking medical care, including subcontractor injuries.
Maintain proactive, professional, and collaborative safety partnership with DEN.
Review all safety submittals to ensure they meet contract requirements before submission to DEN, ensuring submissions come through the General Contractor's document control software.
Conduct daily safety inspections of work areas and provide results to DEN ROCIP Safety Team upon request, possibly using specified forms or programs.
Address all safety issues logged into ACC BUILD within 24 hours.
Compile and send safety statistical information to the DEN ROCIP Safety Team.
Participate in weekly construction meetings with DEN.
Attend quarterly safety meetings scheduled by the DEN ROCIP Safety Team.
Qualifications/Experience:
Must hold a Board of Certified Safety Professionals CHST with at least 8 years construction experience in HSE.
Must have completed the OSHA 500 course for construction within the last 24 months, remaining current for the duration of the project.
Must provide proof of non-expired completion of a Red Cross or approved equal for Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid, and Automated External Defibrillation (AED).
Must provide proof of completion of FMCSA compliant 2-hour drug and alcohol reasonable suspicion supervisory training.
Must have knowledge of and ability to fulfill contractor safety representative's responsibilities set forth in this Manual and the Contractor's CSPP where applicable.
Computer literacy is required.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including word processing software, delivery software, and basic Excel spreadsheet software.
Must be willing to travel to project in Denver International Airport.

Rocky Mountain Youth Corps (RMYC) is a nonprofit youth development organization serving New Mexico. We inspire young adults to make a positive difference in themselves and their communities. Through training and service, Corpsmembers discover their potential for healthy, productive lives.
POSITION PURPOSE:
Assistant Crew Leaders (ACLs) play a pivotal role in building successful crews and meaningful programming. They are leaders, facilitators, and communicators, tasked with inspiring fellow Corpsmembers to achieve personal and professional growth. As both a member of the crew and a part of the leadership team the ACL occupies a unique and demanding position. For the right individual, this position is a pathway towards full leadership positions and further opportunities in conservation.
POSITION TYPE: Seasonal, full time, exempt AmeriCorps member
SCHEDULE: Day work, Spike schedule, or Hybrid schedule.
Day work schedule is Tuesday-Friday, 7:00am-5:30pm with weekends off.
Spike schedule is Tuesday-Tuesday, 7:00am-5:30pm, camping at the project site. Spike is 8 days on shift followed by 6 days off. Hybrid schedule includes both spike work and day work.
STIPEND: $690 ($17.25/hr equivalent) per week before taxes
EDUCATION AWARD: $5,176.50 upon completion of 1200-hour AmeriCorps Service Term
REPORTS TO: Crew Leader, with supervision by the Middle Rio Grande Conservation Program Coordinator
DATES: February 2, 2026 - November 13, 2026. 11 weeks of orientation training followed by project work
LOCATION: RMYC Albuquerque Office 2921 2nd St. SW, Albuquerque, NM 87107 with project locations throughout the state. Participants must have reliable transportation to and from this location, according to their work schedule for the duration of the season.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Crew Leadership
In partnership with Crew Supervisor, assist in the creation of a highly collaborative leadership structure with shared responsibilities and input.
Help facilitate scheduled educational training throughout the season, while also assisting in impromptu “teachable moments” in the field.
Model appropriate professional behavior, environmental stewardship, and work ethic for Corpsmembers; be an example that inspires the crew.
Maintain a strong commitment to creating a culture of safety within the crew.
Assist with crew function during disaster relief work lasting up to 45 days (if deployed).
Project Management
Serve with Crew Supervisor, Program Coordinator, project sponsors, and organizational partners to accomplish projects in an efficient and timely manner.
Assist with leadership of the crew (or a portion of the crew) for project efficiency or as the need arises, under the direction and supervision of program staff. Examples include guidance with proper tool use, assisting with the organization of service tasks such as organizing a crew on a trail or thinning project, or helping to facilitate safety discussions with the crew. Assisting with leadership does not include direct supervisory tasks like discipline or timecard approval, which are handled solely by staff crew supervisors or other program staff.
Track daily tool issues, ensuring that tools are well-maintained, organized, and accounted for throughout project work.
Assist in daily preparation of supplies and equipment: first aid kits, vehicle inspection, personal protective equipment.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the facilitation of crew meetings on a regular basis.
Assist in reporting requirements and project impact paperwork.
Create a leadership development plan to further personal growth and leadership competencies.
Comply with all RMYC and AmeriCorps rules and policies and not participate in any prohibited activities as described in the member agreement.

Area of Responsibility:
The ideal candidate will be able to perform the following function:
Analyze system (Business Central "BC") requirements and ensure team accomplishes daily production planning. Responsible to ensure completions in BC are done correctly;

Rocky Mountain Youth Corps (RMYC) is a nonprofit youth development organization serving New Mexico. We inspire young adults to make a positive difference in themselves and their communities. Through training and service, Corpsmembers discover their potential for healthy, productive lives.
POSITION PURPOSE:
Assistant Crew Leaders (ACLs) play a pivotal role in building successful crews and meaningful programming. They are leaders, facilitators, and communicators, tasked with inspiring fellow Corpsmembers to achieve personal and professional growth. As both a member of the crew and a part of the leadership team the ACL occupies a unique and demanding position. For the right individual, this position is a pathway towards full leadership positions and further opportunities in conservation.
POSITION TYPE: Seasonal, full time, exempt AmeriCorps member
SCHEDULE: Day work, Spike schedule, or Hybrid schedule.
Day work schedule is Tuesday-Friday, 7:00am-5:30pm with weekends off.
Spike schedule is Tuesday-Tuesday, 7:00am-5:30pm, camping at the project site. Spike is 8 days on shift followed by 6 days off. Hybrid schedule includes both spike work and day work.
STIPEND: $690 ($17.25/hr equivalent) per week before taxes
EDUCATION AWARD: $5,176.50 upon completion of 1200-hour AmeriCorps Service Term
REPORTS TO: Crew Leader, with supervision by the Upper Rio Grande Conservation Program Coordinator
DATES: February 2, 2026 - November 13, 2026. 11 weeks of orientation training followed by project work
LOCATION: RMYC Taos Office: 1203 King Drive, Taos, NM 87571 with project locations throughout the state. Participants must have reliable transportation to and from this location, according to their work schedule for the duration of the season.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Crew Leadership
In partnership with Crew Supervisor, assist in the creation of a highly collaborative leadership structure with shared responsibilities and input.
Help facilitate scheduled educational training throughout the season, while also assisting in impromptu “teachable moments” in the field.
Model appropriate professional behavior, environmental stewardship, and work ethic for Corpsmembers; be an example that inspires the crew.
Maintain a strong commitment to creating a culture of safety within the crew.
Assist with crew function during disaster relief work lasting up to 45 days (if deployed).
Project Management
Serve with Crew Supervisor, Program Coordinator, project sponsors, and organizational partners to accomplish projects in an efficient and timely manner.
Assist with leadership of the crew (or a portion of the crew) for project efficiency or as the need arises, under the direction and supervision of program staff. Examples include guidance with proper tool use, assisting with the organization of service tasks such as organizing a crew on a trail or thinning project, or helping to facilitate safety discussions with the crew. Assisting with leadership does not include direct supervisory tasks like discipline or timecard approval, which are handled solely by staff crew supervisors or other program staff.
Track daily tool issues, ensuring that tools are well-maintained, organized, and accounted for throughout project work.
Assist in daily preparation of supplies and equipment: first aid kits, vehicle inspection, personal protective equipment.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the facilitation of crew meetings on a regular basis.
Assist in reporting requirements and project impact paperwork.
Create a leadership development plan to further personal growth and leadership competencies.
Comply with all RMYC and AmeriCorps rules and policies and not participate in any prohibited activities as described in the member agreement.

BENEFITS:
Healthcare coverage is available to all AmeriCorps members at no cost to the member. This is considered primary coverage and is not available as supplemental coverage.
A certain number of Non-Scheduled Days (paid days off) are available depending on the length of the term of service (These days off ARE NOT counted toward the service hours required for the Educational Award)
RMYC observes all National holidays and are considered paid days off, however RMYC reserves the right to have AmeriCorps members work or service hours on certain holidays if necessary to meet program requirements (These days off ARE NOT counted toward the service hours required for the Educational Award)

Student loan forbearance and interest payments are available for those who qualify
