This position involves performing basic landscaping tasks under supervision, supporting the safe operation of commercial-grade landscaping equipment, and assisting with the maintenance of plant materials and other landscape features.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Cut turf using various-sized power mowers, trimming, and edging using a gas-powered edger/trimmer, and operating a gas-powered blower
* Prune shrubs and low trees as needed to improve the shape or growth habit, or to remove damaged branches
* Plant and maintain flower beds
* Operate the edger and line trimmer along sidewalks, flower beds, trees, buildings, fences, and other objects
* Pick up trash and blow leaves and other organic debris onto the turf before mowing.
* Mulch the leaves and organic matter when mowing
* Perform weeding by hand or using a garden hoe or hula hoe
* Perform basic, preventative maintenance to extend the life of equipment
* Properly remove trash, dead plants, and suckers from the landscape
* Maintain a polite, friendly, responsive demeanor with guests and customers
* Report unsafe conditions to the Crew Leader as appropriate
Education and Experience:
* At least 18 years old,
* Enthusiastic and dependable
* Ability to safely work with equipment like power saws and cutters
* Certified on level 1 equipment (backpack blower, stick edger, string trimmer, walk-behind mower)
* Familiar with basic horticultural maintenance operations/practices
Physical Demands/Requirements:
* Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. (mulch, fertilizer, etc.)
* Ability to load/unload burlaps with plant cuttings onto trailer (up to 50 lbs.)
* Ability to bend, stoop, and twist continuously throughout the day
Work Environment:
* Work in/or about situations near direct automotive traffic
* Work near or about natural bodies of water
* Ability to work in extreme conditions - temperatures may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain company standards in all interactions, including but not limited to, interactions with clients and personnel.
Assist managers in conducting morning safety meetings.
Ensure daily safety inspections of equipment, vehicles, and job site.
Complete daily paperwork, including but not limited to, employee timesheets, recording of daily mileage, numbers of vehicles and equipment used, and billing sheets for any extra billable work.
Perform landscape and street maintenance duties, including but not limited to, pruning, planting, and mowing.
Initiate repair of any malfunctioning or unsafe equipment.
Communicate with Supervisor on topics such as, but not limited to, crew members, equipment issues, and job related concerns.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
General knowledge of landscape maintenance and landscape construction.
Supervisor experience; 3+ year managing crews.
Ability to pass driving requirements.
Strong conflict resolution skills.
Valid drivers' license and ability to meet company guidelines for driver eligibility

Job Description
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with Project and Fleet Managers to assess equipment needs and repair problems by using the most cost-effective practices.
Monitor and schedule preventative maintenance and repair operations.
Maintain and provide a report of all repairs and maintenance actions including parts and labor time on each piece of equipment.
Stay within monthly and yearly shop budgets.
Perform mechanical work using conventional hand and power tools in a safe and productive manner.
Troubleshoot equipment problems and work to proactively maintain fleet and equipment.
Run equipment and service truck for truck / equipment repairs outside of shop and facility needs.
General shop and office upkeep.
Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Ideal candidate would possess the following -
The ideal candidate for this position will have over 5 years of experience working on medium duty trucks, along with Snowplow equipment.
Experience with equipment including snow plows, mowers, skid steers, dingos, edgers, back pack blowers, string trimmers, ATVs, UTVs, etc.
They will have strong experience with engine repairs on International, Cummins, Cat, etc.
The ideal candidate will also be very proficient in using computer diagnostics software to pinpoint engine, hydraulic, electrical, or electronic issues.
Must be able to manage workload in cold weather for long hours at times.
Must be able to order parts as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of of landscape equipment & small equipment including snowplows, mowers, skid steers, dingos, edgers, backpack blowers, string trimmers, ATVs, UTVs, etc.
Knowledge of snow removal equipment and safe operating procedures.
Strong communication skills.
Strong conflict resolution and critical thinking skills.
Efficient multi-tasking ability.
Basic computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office applications and internal computer programs.
A valid Driver's License (CDL preferred) and ability to meet company guidelines for driver eligibility.
