THE PAY RANGE FOR THIS ROLE IS $17-$21 AND BASED ON PREVIOUS RELATEABLE WORK EXPERIENCE AS WELL AS ANY LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS YOU HOLD. * The Landscaper I provide landscape maintenance support to a variety of industrial, commercial, and public properties. This position performs basic tasks with supervision and supports the safe operation of commercial grade landscaping equipment as well as the upkeep of plant material and other landscaping elements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Cut turf using various sized power mowers, trimming, and edging using a gas-powered edger/trimmer, and operating a gas-powered blower
* Prune shrubs and low trees as needed to improve the shape or growth habit or to remove damaged branches
* Plant and maintain flower beds
* Operate the edger and line trimmer along sidewalks, flower beds, trees, buildings, fences, and other objects
* Pick up trash and blow leaves and other organic debris on to the turf before mowing.
* Mulch the leaves and organic matter when mowing.
* Perform weeding by hand or using a garden hoe or hula hoe
* Perform basic, preventative maintenance to extend the life of equipment
* Properly remove trash, dead plants, and suckers from landscape
* Maintain a polite, friendly, responsive demeanor with guests and customers
* Report unsafe conditions to Crew Leader or Production Manager as appropriate
Education and Experience:
* At least 18 years old,
* Enthusiastic and dependable
* Ability to safely work with equipment like power saws and cutters
* Certified on level 1 equipment (backpack blower, stick edger, string trimmer, walk-behind mower)
* Familiar with basic horticultural maintenance operations/practices
Physical Demands/Requirements:
* Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. (mulch, fertilizer, etc.)
* Ability to load/unload burlaps with plant cuttings onto trailer (up to 50 lbs.)
* Ability to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day
Work Environment:
* Work in/or about situations near direct automotive traffic
* Work near or about natural bodies of water
* Ability to work in extreme conditions - temperatures may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit
* Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time
* Work outdoors in moderate to extreme heat in dry/humid near automotive traffic, natural bodies of water, fumes, dust, mechanical/electrical hazards and direct sunlight.
* Requires protective clothing and personal devices: Eye protection, safety vest, gloves, hard hat, ear plugs, long sleeved shirts, and work boots.
Compensation Pay Range:

Your Responsibilities Include- Safely performing all aspects of arboriculture, including:
Daily climbing to heights of between 10-to-150 feet using a variety of climbing systems including a combination of SRT, DRT, and DdRT
Managing a team of Grounds-people and Climbers Apprentices: Confirming their time cards are correct, letting them know what work needs to be done each day in order to complete the job on time/on budget
Identifying and performing tree inventories

Installing bracing, cabling, and lightning protection systems

Responsibilities
What You'll Do as a Trimmer
As a Trimmer/Climber at Lewis Tree Services, you'll build foundational skills in utility vegetation management and provide support for tree trimming and line clearing operations serving utility companies and other clients.
- Ground-level and aloft tree pruning, felling, and vegetation removal to maintain clearance around power lines and equipment (includes climbing or aerial lift work under supervision and proper training).

Edge, weed-eat, trim, remove leaves and palm fronds, or any job duty needed to enhance the aesthetics of the Club and surrounding areas. Complete these tasks in a safe and efficient manner, based on training and operational directives that include proper transport of equipment, its efficient use, time management of task at hand and cleanup, servicing, and storage of machinery.
Mulch all beds surrounding the clubhouse and high traffic areas to ensure that an adequate amount of mulch is used and maintained for a crisp clean look. The clubhouse lawns and surrounding beds shall be watered to fit the needs of the turfgrass and each plant type to enhance and maintain each plant to its optimum health.
Dig holes as necessary.
Trim and prune trees, hedges, shrubs, and flowering plant material and ensure safety and proper form of each plant type.
Keep work area, cart, and maintenance facilities neat, clean, and organized.
Properly and safely operate any piece of machinery and complete safety checklists as required. Return all equipment clean and perform any required service prior to storage.
Report any problems or damage with equipment to the Assistant Superintendent, Superintendents or Director of GCM.
Check oil and gas levels before driving or using any machinery. Know the proper type of gas/oil mixture or gas/diesel fuel specification that each machine requires.
Secure and hitch transport machinery properly and always drive at a safe speed.
Greet Members with a smile, say Hello and use their name if possible.
Advise the Supervisors immediately if a problem or complaint is brought to your attention by a member. Assure the members that their issue will be brought to management and will be handled accordingly.
Dress in an approved uniform always, including a hat.
Other duties as assigned by the COO, AGM, Director of GCM, Superintendent, or Assistant Superintendent.
