DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES Safely operate a tractor trailer in a manner that reduces risk and liabilities. Load and secure heavy construction equipment and machinery onto the trailer for transport in accordance with State and Federal regulations. Accurately measure load dimensions and weight to ensure compliance with OS/OW permit requirements and State and Federal regulations. Perform and properly document pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to ensure they are in a safe and legal condition. Maintain accurate records of trip details, including mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance reports and hours worked. Communicate effectively with project managers, equipment operators, and other team members to coordinate equipment transport and delivery schedules in a direct and friendly manner. Always adhere to Emery Sapp & Sons safety policies and procedures. Perform basic maintenance and repairs on the truck and trailer when necessary. Assist with loading and unloading equipment and materials at job sites as needed. Occasional heavy lifting. Extensive travel may be required. Accurately navigate a tractor trailer using instructions, maps or GPS, to a wide variety of locations both on road and off. Properly wear and safely use PPE. Properly record hours worked using an ELD in compliance with Hours of Service regulations. Documenting equipment pick up and deliveries. Ensuring accuracy of pickup and delivery. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent. 7 to 8 Axels 2 years of heavy haul experience. Valid Class A CDL with Tank endorsement. Valid DOT Med Cert with Non-Excepted Interstate self-certification. Minimum of 3 years of experience operating lowboy trailers and transporting heavy equipment preferred. Hazardous Materials endorsement on CDL preferred, but not required. Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and best practices for equipment transport. Ability to operate equipment during loading and unloading processes. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Basic mechanical skills for minor truck and trailer maintenance. Willingness to travel to various job sites as needed. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to read, understand and navigate using paper and/or digital maps. Ability to sit for long periods of time.

A Brief Overview The Non-CDL Driver I is responsible for the safe, efficient transportation of materials to various job sites and other locations. This is an entry-level driving position with a focus on delivering raw materials and smaller orders. This position is not a CDL driver but may require some certification depending on State law. Relay messages sent by customers while on job. Assist supervisor, other employees and other work areas, as assigned. May be subject to DOT and FMCSA jurisdictions and restrictions. Participate in and complete assigned trainings. Education Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Experience Qualifications 1-3 years of experience driving trucks required. Ability to deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems. Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques. Maintain current operator's license and meet company driver qualification requirements.
