The Patient Financial Advocate is responsible to screen patients on-site at hospitals for eligibility assistance programs either bedside or in the ER. This includes providing information and reports to client contact(s), keeping them current on our progress.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Review the hospital census or utilize established referral method to identify self-pay patients consistently throughout the day.
Screen those patients that are referred to Firstsource for State, County and/or Federal eligibility assistance programs.
Initiate the application process bedside when possible.
Identifies specific patient needs and assist them with an enrollment application to the appropriate agency for assistance.
Introduces the patients to Firstsource services and informs them that we will be contacting them on a regular basis about their progress.
Provides transition, as applicable, for the backend Patient Advocate Specialist to develop a positive relationship with the patient.
Records all patient information on the designated in-house screening sheet.
Document the results of the screening in the onsite tracking tool and hospital computer system.
Identifies out-patient/ER accounts from the census or applicable referral method that are designated as self-pay.
Reviews system for available information for each outpatient account identified as self-pay.
Face to face screen patients on site as able. Attempts to reach patient by telephone if unable to screen face to face.
Document out-patient/ER accounts when accepted in the hospital system and on-site tracking tool.
Outside field work as required to include Patient home visits to screen for eligibility of State, County, and Federal programs.
Other Duties as assigned or required by client contract
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain a positive working relationship with the hospital staff of all levels and departments.
Report any important occurrences to management as soon as possible (dramatic change in the number or type of referrals, etc.)
Access information for the Patient Advocate Specialist as needed (discharge dates, balances, itemized statements, medical records, etc.).
Keep an accurate log of accounts referred each day.
Meet specified goals and objectives as assigned by management on a regular basis.
Maintain confidentiality of account information at all times.
Maintain a neat and orderly workstation.
Adhere to prescribed policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and the Employee Code of Conduct.
Maintain awareness of and actively participate in the Corporate Compliance Program.
Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
1 - 3 years' experience of medical coding, medical billing, eligibility (hospital or government) or other pertinent medical experience is preferred.
Previous customer service experience preferred.
Must have basic computer skills.

JOB SUMMARY
Supports the program and recreation coordinator in developing, managing, and evaluating programs and recreational activities. Assists in managing program staff and volunteers. Presents a cheerful demeanor and positive attitude in all work duties.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in creating and overseeing enrichment activities and recreational offerings.
Evaluates activities, programs, and classes for content, techniques, and special problems.
Monitors programs for function, safety, and equipment issues; performs safety and health-related cleaning and maintenance services as needed; requests maintenance services as necessary in facilities and program sites.
Open and close program sites facilities; sets up and takes down equipment and supplies needed for scheduled activities; ensures that safety equipment is in good working order and easily accessible.
Enforces facility, department, and city rules and regulations.
Administers various types of leagues, including signing up participants, creating rosters, bracketing, compiling rules, and scheduling dates, times, locations, and referees for games and practices.
Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment. Participates in the procurement process.
Maintains documentation on all programs and participants; prepares statistical and summary reports as needed.
Responds to routine inquiries and complaints in a courteous manner; provides information within the area of assignment; resolves complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
Ensures hourly employees adhere to established work methods and techniques; informs hourly employees of applicable city and department policies, procedures, standards, and specifications; reviews needs with appropriate supervisory and management staff.
May assist with scheduling hourly staff; ensures appropriate staff to participant ratio for assigned summer camp and children's programs.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Engage and communicate with the participants and staff to ensure quality programming.
Gathers information from various sources to identify needs and trends for new programs; drafts program outlines and reviews with higher-level staff.
Flexibility and adaptability: being flexible and adaptable to changing needs and circumstances. This could involve adjusting schedules, modifying activities, and handling unexpected situations effectively.
Visit each program daily: solve problems in a timely manner if necessary.
Assist in communication and outreach. Communicating with participants, parents, and other stakeholders about program activities, events, and updates.
Must be available for frequent nights and weekend activities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
⢠Bachelor's degree from accredited university, preferably in parks and recreation education, or sports and recreation. Or high school diploma/GED and 5 years' demonstrated experience with recreation management or program development and management.
Must have at least 2 years of experience in program management.
CPRP preferred, or ability to earn within 18 months of employment.
Must have a valid driver's license

10% Responsible for tracking maintenance supplies and materials, while fostering and sustaining professional relationships with contracted vendors

10% Acts as electrician in repairing (minor) electrical malfunctions/installing equipment. Provides plumbing duties such as assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and sewer systems. Surgical Instrument Assistant

Reports to the Department Designee. Under the direction of a Certified Surgical Instrument Technologist, is responsible for the care, preparation, and maintenance of sterile and unsterile instruments, equipment, and supplies. Identifies, inspects and assembles instrumentation for use in a sterile procedure. Sterilizes instrumentation and completes quality control checks as required. Ensures proper inventory levels by filling requests according to established unit of measure.

Decontaminates surgical instrumentation, utilizing correct departmental procedures by:
* Consistently adhering to policy of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while in the decontamination area.
* Emptying all contaminated trash into appropriate containers, as well as placing all other trash into trash room bins.
* Performing proper cleaning procedures and operating washer decontaminator.
Inspects surgical instrumentation for cleanliness and proper working order by:
* Inspecting all instrumentation for moving parts and taking appropriate action if problems are identified.
* Verifying that instrumentation, lumens, scopes, etc., are free of all contaminates; removing any instruments from service until properly cleaned.
Assembles surgical instrumentation according to accreditation standards and departmental procedures by:
* Ensuring every item processed for any sterilization method has appropriate internal indicator.
* Following the Censitrac scanning system to determine instrumentation needed for the tray, process a count sheet, and record the location of trays processed.
* Identifying missing items not available for replacement, notifying the appropriate Surgical Coordinator of the missing instruments, then placing a 'Missing Instrument' sticker on the outside of set once approved to process by the coordinator.
Sterilizes instrumentation and completes quality control checks according to accreditation standards and departmental procedures by:
* Utilizing appropriate Load Record documentation and specifications to load and operate sterilizer equipment.
* Verifying that the sterilizer equipment has met the appropriate time and temperature parameters.
Completes the biological documentation as required by all accreditation standards and departmental procedures by:
* Preparing and running appropriate test packs for appropriate sterilizers.
* Preparing the biological(s) for placement into appropriate incubators and recording appropriate information.
* Following the Censitrac scanning system for recording and documenting information required for biological results, products sterilized in each load, and the parameters of the sterilization process.
* Recording information required on appropriate records, based on the biological results.
Ensures that inventory item(s) retrieved or returned are correct and are documented according to the established unit of measure by:
* Prioritizing the pulling of OR case carts, filling stock requisitions, and restocking inventory carts according to departmental procedure.
* Performing basic computer duties which include, locating proper inventory number(s), stock bin locations and quantities of stock available and on order.
* Reporting inventory discrepancies to the Inventory Supervisor or Inventory Coordinator.
Performs other functions to maintain personal competence and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department by:
* Channeling problems and/or complaints to appropriate resource person for investigation and resolution.
* Reporting work location to the Lead Technician and when assignments cannot be completed.
* Providing input and assisting in the implementation of the department quality assurance (QI) process.
* Completing other job-related assignments and special projects as assigned.

* Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required.

Education and Experience
* The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a high school diploma. A minimum of one year of healthcare or materials management experience is required. Completion of a medical terminology course and surgical or sterile processing experience is preferred. Team members working a regular full or part time schedule must complete the certified central service tech program from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management (IAHCSMM) or other accredited central service or surgical technologist program and attain certification within twelve months of employment.
Knowledge & Skills
* Requires a working knowledge of inventory structures, such as dispensing unit of measure and low unit of measure.
* Requires the organizational skills and attention to detail necessary to properly distinguish instrumentation.
* Demonstrates proficiency in computer skills (i.e., Censitrac, Word, Excel and Windows applications). An understanding of database applications is desired.
* Requires basic knowledge of safety, departmental and hospital policies and emergency disaster procedures.
* Demonstrates interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective relationships with co-workers, supervisors, physicians and staff members of other departments.
* Demonstrates communication skills, both verbal and written, necessary to effectively complete forms and take messages in a legible and accurate manner.
Working Conditions
* Work is performed in a sterile processing and distribution environment requiring physical exertion, time demands and some undesirable objects to handle.
* Potential exposure to physical, chemical and bio-hazards.
Physical Demands
* Requires physical ability, manual dexterity, and stamina (i.e., to lift up to 50 pounds, to push/pull storage carts, frequent bending, reaching, standing and walking and occasional kneeling/squatting and the ability to remain on feet for extended periods of time, etc.) to perform the essential functions of the position.

Weekly Hours & Schedule:
Part-time, 27 hours per week
Mondays and Tuesdays 12:00pm-6:00pm and Wednesdays through Fridays 1:00pm-6:00pm
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist in providing fun, beneficial, and imaginative programs.
Maintain the health and safety of all children in assigned area by assuring that members understand and follow the behavioral expectations and that the room is clean and free from hazards.
Utilizing Youth Development Strategies, ensure members' self-esteem is maintained and enhanced through their Club experience.

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma Required
Must be at least 18 years old
Bilingual Preferred
Demonstrated competence working with youth ages 5-12.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Position may require standing/sitting for extended periods of time, reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally, bending at the waist, and ability to lift, carry, pull or otherwise move objects up to 20lbs.
