Bristol Township company history timeline

1824

'Welcome Friend' has served Bristol as a motto since a wooden sign greeted the Marquis de Lafayette on his 'Farewell Tour of America' in 1824.

1876

The first of the larger manufacturers was the Grundy Woolen Mill, which began production in 1876.

1931

Bristol offered a ferry service that connected it to the city of Burlington, New Jersey, from its founding in 1681 until the opening of a bridge across the Delaware River in 1931.

1950

He was joined in the early 1950’s by three additional officers.

1952

In 1952, the Department swelled to 15 officers as William Levitt began building his vision for the community of Levittown.

1966

As Levittown grew, so did the Bristol Township Police Department and by 1966 the Department was staffed by just over 30 Officers.
