Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Clean and assemble various optical parts, mechanical subassemblies and large assemblies of high complexity.
Requires the use of hand tools to perform a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical, mechanical or measurement product assembly operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies.

Manufacturing processes developed are robust against product specifications and support quoted cost. Key process variables are identified, characterized and controlled sufficiently to consistently result in acceptable quality and cycle times. Process variables reduction is continuously engaged.
Process Documentation: Responsible for building and maintaining manufacturing process documentation for use by production personnel in the performance of their jobs. Learn and perform all aspects of vacuum coating chamber preparations and operations to include cleaning, foiling, sandblasting, and installing of system components and chemicals for deposition
Load optics into designated tooling or fixtures in preparation for coating
Operate, monitor, and record critical parameters of coating deposition during thin film production
Unload coated optics and re-inspect for quality and to assure that no physical damage has occurred
Prevent or correct deficiencies in surface quality and workmanship
