Vestis is seeking a Loader/Unloader to assist our team of Route Sales Reps/drivers in the service department. This position is responsible for the accurate and efficient loading and unloading of delivery vehicles in a safe manner. Assists other areas of the Service team as requested and needed. Makes it a point that the working environment is safe and efficient. Vestis is one of North America's elite providers in branded identity apparel and facilities services programs. Responsibilities: * Offloads soiled goods in a safe and efficient manner. * Transports soiled goods to required areas for Transport. * Aids other Service employees. Qualifications: - Must report to work at the scheduled time set by Production Manager. - Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English. - Must have valid Driver License - Must have reliable transportation to facility on a daily basis. - Must be able to maneuver garment baskets, linen racks, 2-wheeler, pallet jacks. * High School / GED Diploma recommended but not required. * Ability to lift 75 pounds and push or pull up to 70 pounds * Comfortable with a fast-paced work environment that may include fluctuating temperatures and loud noise levels. * Fork Lift certification is recommended but not required. Material Handler Job Description: We are looking for an energetic material handler to receive and dispatch merchandise to and from our warehouse. The material handler will load and unload outgoing and incoming delivery vehicles. You will select products from the warehouse, load, and secure goods to pallets, move inventory to the delivery area, and load merchandise. You will unload stock from delivery vehicles and transport it to and store it in designated warehouse positions. You will keep your work environment clean and tidy at all times and comply with all relevant safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. To ensure success, you need the ability to follow instructions and operate in an orderly manner. Therefore, preferred applicants are hard-working, focused, and have outstanding problem-solving skills. Material Handler Responsibilities: Ensuring cleanliness, tidiness, and safety of the work environment. Loading and unloading delivery vehicles. Accepting delivery of inventory. Counting and confirming inventory. Inspecting inventory for damage and faults. Communicating errors to relevant parties. Marking and labeling stock. Storing inventory inaccessible manner. Loading and wrapping stock on pallets. Building loads with forklift and electronic pallet jack. Some grinding. Material Handler Requirements: 18 years of age or older. Work experience as a general laborer, preferably in the warehouse. Ability to operate forklift proficiently but will train. Completion of a background investigation and drug screening. All equipment is provided by U.S. AutoForce except for steel / composite toe boots. All team members must be able to adhere with safety and manufacture guidelines for compliant use of all protective equipment. Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Fumes associated with tires and occasionally car parts and lubricants are prevalent. Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS Must be 21 years or older (mandatory company policy) 1 year of professional driving experience (cube van, box truck or semi), and satisfactory completion of company road test by qualified assessor 1 year of warehouse/logistics or relevant experience Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record in compliance with our driver policy Ability to be trained and safely use powered industrial trucks (forklifts) and high reach lifts. Pass a forklift certification test Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record in compliance with our driver policy Ability to safely lift 80 pounds consistently and occasionally lift up to 120 pounds Ability to exert a pushing force of up to 60 pounds - working with barrels and industrial/agricultural tires Ability to follow instructions and safe operating procedures Demonstrated ability to provide quality customer service Ability to work overtime as needed Successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background check (we test for THC / marijuana) (requires clean background check) Valid DOT Medical Card or the ability to obtain DOT Medical Card via DOT/FMCSA guidelines and requirements during the hiring process.
