Candidates who do not meet the above requirements will not be considered Responsibilities * Collaborates and provides instruction for small groups and individuals. * Collaborates with necessary personnel to identify and support students who are considered "at-risk." * Collaborates with classroom teachers to design and execute individualized education plans for students with special needs. * Utilizes developmentally appropriate and rigorous curricula and instructional materials that are tightly aligned to benchmarks and the Common Core State standards. * Presents students with new ideas and concepts through a variety of strategies, and inspires and guides them to explore, express and uncover new ideas of their own. * Modifies existing instructional plans as necessary to accommodate individual student's special needs. * Administers, collects, and analyzes both qualitative and quantitative data gathered from a variety of assessments. * Builds relationships with his or her students' families through regular communication about at risk/ IEP students' progress and provides ways in which families can support their children's learning. * Participates in school-wide student assessments in order to diagnose students' needs. * Provides resources and supports for classroom teachers to implement intervention strategies. * Refers students when necessary for special services. * Participates in meetings to develop and review Individual Education Plans and suggest appropriate supports. * Keeps organized records of student progress and provides up-to-date reports. * Knowledgeable about Special Education law and advocates for students. * Performs other duties as assigned. Compensation and Benefits * Salary range $68,735 - $143,740. The position will be based in the Bronx, NY and will entail cleaning the building facilities, maintenance, repair, storage, and operation needs. Responsibilities: Cleaning interior and exterior of building facilities. Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture, and dusting surfaces. Sweeping and mopping floors and vacuuming carpets. Washing and sanitizing toilets, sinks, and showers, and restocking disposables (e.g. soap) Wiping mirrors and windows. Maintaining outer premises by watering plants, mowing lawns, and cleaning entrances. Utilizing insecticides to prevent infestation by dangerous pests. Performing maintenance and minor repairs (replacing broken switches, fixing door handles, minor leaks etc.) Reporting major damages and overseeing repairs. Securing facilities after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows, and setting up alarms. Undertaking occasional custodial and janitorial tasks such as (shoveling snow from the sidewalk, lifting heavy items, moving chairs etc.) Performing other duties as assigned. Requirements High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.) required. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a public school setting required. Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances required. Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components required. Familiarity with basic landscaping and handyman practices required. Attention to detail and conscientiousness required. Ability to lift 50lbs required. Ability to speak English required. Who We Need We are searching for a results-oriented, experienced, Porters who will support the Facilities and Maintenance Team in cleaning and maintaining the school's buildings and systems, including but not limited to walls, flooring materials, ceilings, toilet rooms, radiator and vent covers, plumbing, electric and fire detection systems, furniture and equipment. In addition, packing, unpacking and moving boxes, furniture and equipment throughout as assigned, as well as assisting with diverse departmental needs. Specific Duties: 1. Cleaning- Responsible for utilizing the best techniques to clean and maintain all of the areas summarized above to a level consistent with the high standards of the School. 2. Moving & Set-ups -Responsible for moving and/or arranging furniture, equipment, deliveries, and boxes, throughout as necessary, with care and concern for the items being handled, the finishes surrounding the work, noise, and timeliness. 3. Paint, Maintenance & Repairs-Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the building by assisting in painting and repair work as directed, and reporting to the Supervisor all maintenance and repairs as needed, including but not limited to dangerous conditions that may exist in the building, stained or broken ceiling tiles, light fixtures, broken furniture, etc. Requirements High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.) All work must be performed in a timely manner and at a level consistent with the high standards and needs of the School. Must be familiar with all chemicals and tools necessary in the execution of the work. Must have ability to interact positively with Supervisors and co-workers, and work well in a team environment. Must be flexible with work and work schedules.
