Position: All Custodians are responsible for ensuring that a clean, safe, and healthy environment exists for scholars, employees, and visitors. The position will be based in the Bronx, NY and will entail cleaning the building facilities, maintenance, repair, storage, and operation needs. Responsibilities: Cleaning interior and exterior of building facilities. Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture, and dusting surfaces. Sweeping and mopping floors and vacuuming carpets. Washing and sanitizing toilets, sinks, and showers, and restocking disposables (e.g. soap) Wiping mirrors and windows. Maintaining outer premises by watering plants, mowing lawns, and cleaning entrances. Utilizing insecticides to prevent infestation by dangerous pests. Performing maintenance and minor repairs (replacing broken switches, fixing door handles, minor leaks etc.) Reporting major damages and overseeing repairs. Securing facilities after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows, and setting up alarms. Undertaking occasional custodial and janitorial tasks such as (shoveling snow from the sidewalk, lifting heavy items, moving chairs etc.) Performing other duties as assigned. Key Responsibilities * Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements. * Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures. * Coordinate and support all audit activity and preparation of 990 by external audit firm. * Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner. * Create monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. * Assist in annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate. * Oversee all financial, project/program, and grants accounting; ensure that expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and program budgets throughout the grants/fund period. * Develop financial modeling and budget for government and foundation submissions. * Process payables; receivables; receipts; invoicing; payroll. * Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with senior leadership. * Support Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer in engaging the Board's Finance committee around organizational budgets, forecasts, and issues and trends in financial operating models and delivery. * Develop and manage accounting team. * Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; * Minimum of seven years of accounting and finance experience, ideally beginning in accounting and audit required. * Experience gathering, evaluating, presenting and reporting financial information to executive teams and external stakeholders required. * Experience with budget development and forecasting required. * Extensive knowledge of non-profit accounting required. * Demonstrated commitment to the social sector with a passion for the organization's mission is essential preferred. * Expertise in INTACCT and Excel preferred. Key Responsibilities * Identify, sustain, and monitor progress towards the organization's annual operational goals and growth * Support the network in codifying systems, policies, and practices for smooth replication and compliance * Collaborate in cross-functional teams on a variety of network initiatives that include supporting replication processes, and building enrollment streams and human capital * Support the Executive leadership and network leadership in securing and managing real estate options throughout network expansion * Support for strategic planning for future growth and expansion * Evaluate current practices, streamline our processes, and codify those which are replicable in order to maximize resources and serve in the best interests of the families we serve * Manage and monitor our systems for generating enrollment streams, human capital, policies, and real estate * Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of data compilation, analysis, and reporting for the campuses and network * Support the establishment of a blueprint of our systems for sustained success in replication * Supports data compilation, customized reports, and analysis for school, network, state, and federal reporting * Ensure data accuracy for audits and reporting * Manages a team of operational staff Qualifications * Masters Degree or higher with concentration in Business, Project Management or other relevant field * Minimum 5 years of previous professional experience * Previous charter school management experience preferred * Experience with and commitment to improving the quality of urban education, specifically for scholars who have been traditionally underserved Compensation & Benefits * Starting Salary $125,000.
