In 1911 the Manhattan Polo Grounds burned down, and for a time, the NY Giants used Hilltop Park.
So, in 1913 the Highlanders baseball team started playing at the Manhattan Polo Grounds where the team was again renamed– this time as the New York Yankees .
The home was built about four stories high and of limestone following Freedman's death in 1915.
In 1923, Yankee Stadium was opened at East 161st Street and River Avenue as the home of the New York Yankees.
