The Central Registration Associate assists patients, facilities and other callers in the scheduling of needed outpatient services offered within the BronxCare Healthcare System in a high volume/high paced call center environment, while delivering an outstanding patient centered customer service experience. Responsible for centralized telephone scheduling of patient appointments through the use of ALLSCRIPTS in a Call Center Environment. The scheduling activities consist of but not limited to scheduling, rescheduling and cancellations.
Demonstrates proficiency in Pre-Registration and Pre-certification requirements for each insurance plan to ensure proper approvals and assures coordination of benefits are available prior to patient arrival.
Verifies insurance, authorizations and pre-registration data for each patient appointment scheduling. Incorporates missing data and changes to demographics when advised by patient.
Works with Hospital/Clinics personnel to facilitate appointments scheduling for Hospital In-patient discharge follow up visits to ensure continuity of care.
Maintain the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality at all times to ensure compliance with Federal/State regulations such as HIPPA and EMTALA.
Act as a liaison with clinics, physicians, patients, staff, insurers and ancillary departments and maintain a positive relationship with all.
Qualifications
High School or GED required, Associates preferred. Knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Outlook/Exchange is required, Word, and Internet browser applications is required, 1-2 years customer service experience, preferably in a call center and/or outpatient healthcare environment is required. 1-2 years' experience involving Health Benefit verification and Third-Party Billing is strongly preferred. Bilingual - English/Spanish proficiency is preferred.

Our department boasts a highly active brachytherapy program, offering a wide range of treatment modalities. Our physicians, who are recognized experts in brachytherapy, utilize the state-of-the-art VARIAN Bravos afterloader for high-dose-rate (HDR) treatments, including GYN, interstitial, and contact procedures. Additionally, all radiopharmaceutical infusions, such as XOFIGO and PLUVICTO, are administered in a specialized area within the department.
We use Mosaiq as our EMR, and ARIA (Eclipse with RapidPlan, Brachyvision) as our treatment planning system. In addition, we use a suite of products from Radformation (Autocontour, EZFluence, ClearCalc, ClearCheck, QuickCode), MIM (Maestro, ProtégéAI+), and LAP RadCalc. For routine QA testing, we have a range of advanced physics equipment, including a PTW BeamScan water phantom, several detector arrays (SNC ArcCheck, PTW Octavius 4D, PTW Starcheck Maxi, SNC Mapcheck, FilmQAPro), as well as all types of phantoms and dosimetric devices necessary for routine QA tests. Our team utilizes the TotalQA (ImageOwl) cloud-based platform for QA analysis and management.

Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Division Chief of Hematology/Oncology at the Maimonides Cancer Center. This leadership role offers a unique opportunity to shape and advance a growing, multidisciplinary oncology program in a dynamic urban health system. The Division Chief will oversee a dedicated team of 9 full-time faculty who subspecialize across disease sites including hematologic malignancies, gynecologic and genitourinary oncology, and sarcoma. The mission of BiNGS is to enhance scholarship and facilitate NGS data analysis in the ISMMS community by providing access to state-of-the-art tools and training. The BiNGS staff support a broad range of bioinformatics analyses for multiple applications spanning bulk ATAC-, RNA-, and ChIP-seq, CUT&RUN and HiC, single cell ATAC- and RNA-seq, single cell Multiome and Spatial Transcriptomics, WGS and WES. BiNGS further provides services for data management, bioinformatics tools development, access to biocomputing resources, web-based app development, and advanced computational training in data analysis. We are focused on delivering a comprehensive, rapid and user-friendly service.
More specifically, we are working on multiple projects together with PIs in the Tisch Cancer Center and the broader Mount Sinai community to analyze NGS related datasets. For example, we are working to understand the role of RAS mutations in the development of Leukemia utilizing single cell RNA- and ATAC-seq; understand the role of histone variants in cancer development utilizing enhancers analysis, transcriptomic analysis, open chromatin analysis and transcription factor network analysis; in another project, we are utilizing bulk and single cell, and spatial transcriptomics to understand breast cancer metastasis to bone. Finally, we are utilizing FIBER-seq (third generation PacBio long read sequencing), to better understand how chromatin remodelers shape the chromatin landscape.
We are seeking a highly motivated senior Bioinformatic Scientist who wants the opportunity to significantly impact the growth and success of our research programs, the bioinformatics core and the services we provide. The candidate will work closely with investigators to facilitate and enhance the processing of their projects. Commitment to accuracy, high attention-to-details, and ability to work independently are critical competencies for the role. The ability to lead projects and a team of bioinformaticians is a must. Our growing IT Security Team is seeking a Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Specialist.
The Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Specialist is responsible for developing, maintaining, and testing the business continuity and disaster recovery plans and strategies to ensure the organization's resilience and ability to recover from various types of disruptions. This role involves working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with business needs and the industry's best practices. The work includes managing business continuity and disaster recovery projects, conducting business impact assessments, and providing guidance to improve the organization's BC/DR posture.
Responsibilities include:
• Develop and maintain BC/DR plans, procedures, and strategies.
• Develop and maintain Business Impact Analysis to identify threats, vulnerabilities, and their impact on business operations.
• Drive the BC/DR recovery vision to achieve goals on the roadmap.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute regular BC/DR tests and exercises to validate the effectiveness of recovery procedures and identify areas for improvement. Analyze test results and implement necessary corrective actions.
• Serve as a point of contact for BC/DR related incidents, communicating effectively with stakeholders, technical teams, and management during disruptions.
• Maintain regular engagement with business and technology teams to ensure alignment with disaster recovery strategies.
• Provide input into solution deployments to ensure alignment with disaster recovery strategy.
• Manage and maintain various disaster recovery assessments.
• Develop and maintain strategic recommendations and consultative guidance to help mature disaster recovery programs.
• Stay informed of emerging threats, technologies, and best practices in BC/DR and proactively recommend improvements to existing plans and strategies.
• Participate in professional development activities and training sessions on a regular basis.
Requirements include:
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in management, processes, practices, technologies, audit, compliance, or similar fields.
• Knowledge of enterprise information technology and disaster recovery goals and objectives, including moderate knowledge of computing networks.
• Experience in risk management activities and practices.
• Successfully initiated an enterprise BC program.
• Proven track record of creating program SOPs/SOGs
• Strong knowledge of Visio and Excel
• Experience coordinating and executing BC/DR exercises.
• Experience navigating complex organizations.
• Proven expertise in resolving DR/BC issues.
• Certified in DR or BC
• Strong interpersonal skills, financial and business acumen, analytical and creative problem-solving, project management, and stakeholder management.
• Leadership qualities and the ability to build trust-based relationships.
• Demonstrated experience in maintaining a positive attitude and remaining productive in a dynamic environment.

Assists in loading/unloading of materials, equipment and passengers.

Must notify Transportation Department of any problems pertaining to: License revocation/suspension, deliveries, vehicle malfunction/damage or accidents immediately.

Generate skills in recognizing road, weather and traffic hazards as they develop.
Other Skills Pertinent to Motor Vehicle Operation A. Operate vehicles in inclement and severe weather conditions. B. Operate vehicles in mountainous areas or rough terrain. C. Operate vehicles on loose surfaces. D. Load, secure and transport light cargo, supplies, etc. E. Procedure to take when involved in accident or mishap.
