Responsibilities

Responsible for centralized telephone scheduling of patient appointments through the use of ALLSCRIPTS in a Call Center Environment. The scheduling activities consist of but not limited to scheduling, rescheduling and cancellations.
Demonstrates proficiency in Pre-Registration and Pre-certification requirements for each insurance plan to ensure proper approvals and assures coordination of benefits are available prior to patient arrival.
Verifies insurance, authorizations and pre-registration data for each patient appointment scheduling. Incorporates missing data and changes to demographics when advised by patient.
Works with Hospital/Clinics personnel to facilitate appointments scheduling for Hospital In-patient discharge follow up visits to ensure continuity of care.
Maintain the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality at all times to ensure compliance with Federal/State regulations such as HIPPA and EMTALA.
Act as a liaison with clinics, physicians, patients, staff, insurers and ancillary departments and maintain a positive relationship with all.
Qualifications
High School or GED required, Associates preferred. Knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Outlook/Exchange is required, Word, and Internet browser applications is required, 1-2 years customer service experience, preferably in a call center and/or outpatient healthcare environment is required. 1-2 years' experience involving Health Benefit verification and Third-Party Billing is strongly preferred. We are seeking an experienced bioinformatician for the Tisch Cancer Institute Bioinformatics for Next Generation Sequencing (BiNGS) shared resource facility, to lead transcriptomics and epigenetics data analysis projects in Cancer biology.
The mission of BiNGS is to enhance scholarship and facilitate NGS data analysis in the ISMMS community by providing access to state-of-the-art tools and training. The BiNGS staff support a broad range of bioinformatics analyses for multiple applications spanning bulk ATAC-, RNA-, and ChIP-seq, CUT&RUN and HiC, single cell ATAC- and RNA-seq, single cell Multiome and Spatial Transcriptomics, WGS and WES. BiNGS further provides services for data management, bioinformatics tools development, access to biocomputing resources, web-based app development, and advanced computational training in data analysis. We are focused on delivering a comprehensive, rapid and user-friendly service.
More specifically, we are working on multiple projects together with PIs in the Tisch Cancer institute and the broader Mount Sinai community to analyze NGS related datasets. For example, we are working to understand the role of RAS mutations in the development of Leukemia utilizing single cell RNA- and ATAC-seq; understand the role of histone variants in cancer development utilizing enhancers analysis, transcriptomic analysis, open chromatin analysis and transcription factor network analysis; in another project, we are utilizing bulk and single cell, and spatial transcriptomics to understand breast cancer metastasis to bone. Finally, we are utilizing FIBER-seq (third generation PacBio long read sequencing), to better understand how chromatin remodelers shape the chromatin landscape.

We are currently recruiting for a Division Chief of Hematology/Oncology at the Maimonides Cancer Center. This leadership role offers a unique opportunity to shape and advance a growing, multidisciplinary oncology program in a dynamic urban health system. The Division Chief will oversee a dedicated team of 9 full-time faculty who subspecialize across disease sites including hematologic malignancies, gynecologic and genitourinary oncology, and sarcoma.
