The BronxWorks Comprehensive Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention (CAPP) program provides health education to teens and adolescents in the Bronx. The program's goal is to decrease the number of adolescent pregnancies and STI transmission through sexual risk reduction education. There are two (2) interventions: MPC (Making Proud Choices) targeting middle-school age youth (11-13 years old years old) and BpBr (Be Proud Be Responsible) targeting high school age teens, and youth (14-21 years old). RESPONSIBILITIES Provide direct high-quality training and service provision to adolescent youth. Use evidence-based models, engage adolescent youth population in screening and assessing the educational needs particular to this age group. Perform, Plan, and Implement community outreach and activities which include: Promote program services to the community and adolescent youth. Deliver judgement free training classes to adolescent youth using the evidence-based pregnancy prevention models. Deliver and facilitate educational workshops related to topics promoting and encouraging positive youth development. Participate in community outreach events Offer equitable access to sexual health education through training and clinic tours. The Scattered Site Housing Program (SSHP) is a community based, permanent, supportive housing program for HIV/AIDS Services Administration (HASA) clients. All units are leased in the agency's name. Seventy-five percent of the units are for single individuals and twenty-five percent are for families. Both case management and housing maintenance services are provided. In addition, clients receive partial financial assistance with their utility bills. Clients with income other than Public Assistance must pay thirty percent of their household's income to the program as rent. Program Description Our supportive housing programs include Scattered Site Housing Programs (SSHP) and Emergency transitional Housing (ETHP). These programs provide hundreds of units of housing in the community and SRO type housing in our 24 hour congregate residences to individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS, other chronic health conditions, mental illness, and/or substance use disorders. Our programs provide case management services to ensure that clients are connected to and maintain primary health care; secure behavioral health care when needed; and are connected to other services that support them in becoming and remaining permanently housed. CAMBA's holistic approach includes providing services to family members as needed. The programs also provide operational support, including but not limited to, assistance with moving; setting up utility services; and apartment repairs. Position: Vice President of Housing Reports To: Executive Vice President Location: 19 Winthrop Street, Brooklyn What the Vice President of Housing Does The person filling this position is expected to: (1) Oversee Operations: Direct and coordinate the daily operations of one or more departments and/or a major division of CAMBA; (2) Support Organizational Strategy: Assist the Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer in developing and implementing organizational policies, procedures, and long-term strategic goals; and, (3) Represent CAMBA: Serve as a key representative in meetings and negotiations with funders, external agencies, and community stakeholders. Maintain professional relationships with clients and client confidentiality. Practice Universal Precautions and follow standard Protocol & Procedures. Comply with all Federal, State, City and CAMBA security and privacy polices intended to protect the security and privacy of individually identifiable health information. Prepare performance appraisals for direct reporting staff. In consultation with CAMBA's Human Resources Department and the Executive Vice President make firing recommendations. Prepare contract reports and statistical information for both CAMBA management and funder use. Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all staff weekly/monthly/quarterly/semester/annual reports. Complete program forms and reports for the agency's finance, payroll and human resources departments as required. It provides free civil legal services to low‑income New Yorkers in the areas of consumer law, foreclosure prevention, immigration, housing law, and domestic violence assistance. In addition to providing direct representation and legal advice to thousands of clients, CAMBA attorneys also engage in legislative advocacy, impact litigation in state and federal court, community education, and expert training on a wide range of issues that allow members of our community to improve their lives. What The Foreclosure Prevention Counselor Does Assist clients in completing CAMBA intake applications and forms. Conduct legal intake and assessment of clients and clients' families' situations and needs. Conduct home visits in order to intake and follow‑up services. Assist clients in completing packages and/or applications for loan modifications, fair hearings and other administrative proceedings. Research and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, legal codes, etc. Prepare legal documents such as subpoenas, letters of advocacy, affidavits, and forms for administrative hearings. Investigate facts and law of a case to determine causes of action/defenses and prepare the case accordingly. File motions, briefs, pleadings, legal memos, and appeals with the court clerk. Maintain accurate and comprehensive document/client files including up‑to‑date case note documentation. Deliver or direct delivery of subpoenas to witnesses and parties to action. Follow up with clients and other organizations regarding client progress toward legal goals/program outcomes. Follow up with clients and servicers regarding open issues or negotiations such as, but not limited to, negotiating reinstatements, forbearance, repayment plans, mortgage modifications and/or partial claims. Recommend and implement strategies to persuade clients to participate fully in their own legal process. Act as client liaison/advocate to coordinate with internal and external programs and agencies to make referrals and to ensure integrated services delivery. Develop and report program performance to funders. With appropriate approval, negotiate with servicers on behalf of the clients. Maintain client data in several databases and/or other designed applications (i.e. - Home Counselor Online, Counselor Max, etc.). Prepare marketing and outreach materials for the program. Conduct outreach to the community to inform them of the legal services and to recruit clients. Register clients for CAMBA's foreclosure prevention seminars/workshops or for one‑on‑one assistance. Organize, schedule and conduct foreclosure prevention training seminars and workshops. Minimum Education/Experience Required Associate's degree (A.A.) and two years applicable experience or Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) and/or equivalent experience. Program Description: Learning to Work (LTW) for Transfer Schools Program at Edward Reynolds West Side High School provides students over-aged and under-credited ages 16 -21 with services and opportunities to foster engagement through academic and personal development that lead to earning a high school diploma. Primary goals include getting students to graduate with realistic and meaningful post-secondary plans, gain knowledge and skills that will increase the employability and awareness of post-high school opportunities available to them. Some opportunities include higher education, trade/technical schools and community service programs. Using the Primary Person Model, each student has an LTW Staff Member as a support to minimize and/or remove barriers toward graduation including engaging students in college preparation, and meaningful career exploration including subsidized internships, academic and personal support services to increase self-direction and self-sufficiency. Purpose of Position: The LTW Internship Specialist- Intern Specialist is the primary person support for a cohort of student interns who he/she knows well, counsels to promote goal-setting and supports towards successful completion of internship and the achievement of graduation with a meaningful postsecondary plan. The Intern Specialist will be instrumental in working with the Internship Coordinator to develop and manage the LTW internship program. This position will serve as liaison between students and worksites as well as connector to resources within and outside of the school. Schedule: Part-time, Monday through Friday (25 hours a week) Hourly Range: $17.12-$21.20 Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. With Internship Coordinator, maintain relationships with internship sites Participate in creating a seamless web of support for the student that includes school personnel, family and community opportunities Internship Program Management Solicit, develop and cultivate internship and or job opportunities with private and public sector employers, including small businesses, and within Goddard Riverside Support with placement and monitoring of participants at internship worksites (minimum once a month) Partner with LTW staff to prepare and present workshops and exploratory activities as needed for development of students' leadership, life skills, and self-efficacy Support students to develop employability skills (Resume building, Cover letter writing, Mock Interviews, completion of internship application, job shadowing opportunities) through individual and group activities Work with Internship Coordinator and worksites to ensure time and attendance are recorded properly and entered into our Paycom payroll management system Record service/progress notes for students including but not limited to student interests and activities, SMART goals, attendance outreach, individual counseling, career and college advisement and exploration, service and volunteer activities, and other information as required by program. Assess for referrals to community based support services for students and family members Assist Students not participating in subsidized internships provide with non-paid service learning and/or community service placements during the academic year, upon request and in collaboration with Internship Coordinator. Additional Duties Collaborate in the successful management of the internship program with Internship Coordinator, LTW Program Director, GRCC staff, NYCDOE Staff and the community. Lead and/or champion school events to build community, pride and a welcoming environment. Assists the Head Chef with daily supervision of other kitchen staff members and implementation of tasks and production assignments In the absence of the Head Chef, assumes full responsibility for cooking, serving pre-planned meals, record keeping, and supervising the task supervision of kitchen staff, interns, and volunteers. Assists in the inventory and proper maintenance of food storage areas, ensuring all food items in the storage room are properly dated Assists with deliveries as they arrive, storing them promptly and ensuring proper rotation of food and disposables, following FIFO practices. Assists in the maintenance, cleanliness, and sanitization of all refrigeration/freezer units (both free-standing and walk-ins), steam tables, shelves/racks, work surfaces, all cooking equipment (including and especially the range and ovens), dishes, utensils, appliances, tables, and storage areas. Reports appliance/equipment failure to the Head Chef promptly and in the absence of the Head Chef and Food Service Manager, can schedule repairs. Prepare, cook, and supervise the portioning and serving of food. Participate in menu planning and developing food purchase orders, and submit orders on time. Maintain Daily Food used records and conduct monthly physical food and disposables inventory. Coordinate activities of staff engaged in food preparation, meal service, packaging, and clean-up. Responsible for safe handling and ensuring proper temperature control of prepared foods, food storage areas, refrigerators, and freezers. Responsible for the proper functioning, cleaning of kitchen equipment, dining areas, and adherence to sanitation standards. Assist in the support of volunteers and interns in the kitchen. Qualifications: Possession of Food Protection Certificate as issued by the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Ability to stoop, bend, lift and carry 50+ lbs.
