RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance/Repair
Assist the technician and superintendent in any repair, as necessary.
Provide light electrical repairs on appliances, fixtures, switches, outlets, and circuits.
Maintain familiarity with all building systems including location and turning on and off multiple systems.
Perform facility painting as warranted.
Perform groundwork; including trash removal from the facility.
Safety Adherence/ Maintain facility standards
Ensure quality standards by following procedures, including work assessment, preparation, and clean up.
Demonstrate ability to follow OSHA safety guidelines, including use of appropriate PPE and chemicals.
Maintain required inventory on each floor, including gloves, bags, mops, brooms and PPE
Complete inventory forms for needed items.
Facility Cleanliness/ Unit restoration
Maintain compliance with DOHMH and Osha guidelines for cleanliness throughout the facility.
During unit turnovers, pack, clean, patch/repair, paint and conduct floor care as needed, to ensure units are ready for new clients.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, empty trash, clean windows, etc. regularly and as necessary throughout the facility including offices, Recreation and Childcare areas.
Clean all bathrooms, including single bathrooms, twice a day.
Clean staff kitchen daily, and refrigerator and stove weekly
Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.
Team Collaboration
Attending monthly staff meetings.
Participate in skills training, and training related to all Bronxworks staff, including mandated reporter, and Osha standards training.
Collaborate with team members and leadership to restore units for occupancy.
Collaborate with team members and leadership to facilitate repairs and prepare for inspections
QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of two years building maintenance experience.
Proficiency in English required; proficiency in a second language preferred.
Valid driver's license from the state in which the bearer resides preferred, with less than three (3) points acquired in the last three (3) years
Strong maintenance skills.
Ability to pass a physical skills test.
Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to work with multiple agency personnel
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to climb and stand on a 15-foot ladder.
Ability to lift, pull, push and/or move a minimum of 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, crouch or sit for long periods of time.

Report any maintenance needs or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly and enter maintenance tickets in PAL's ticketing system for new issues.

Intro/Program Description: Goddard Riverside's Corner House provides affordable, permanent supportive housing for 34 previously homeless adults many of whom have mental illness, substance use, and other co-occurring disorders. On-site services include case management, entitlement assistance, medical and psychiatric care, substance use counseling, group activities, recreation, and 24 hour/7 day per week front desk security.
Purpose of Position: To provide Building Maintenance and Safety to the, office, staff and tenants

Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties
Building Maintenance and Safety -under the supervision of the Superintendent
Clean and maintain the property to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
Sanitize and deep clean high touch areas at a high frequency.
Bag and dispose of trash, garbage and recyclables to meet Department of Sanitation rules.
Keep receptacles and recycling areas clean and sanitary.
Help to maintain the building free of pests and vermin.
Prepare spaces for meetings and events as needed.
Interact courteously and professionally with residents why encouraging social distance and quarantine policies as needed.
Participate as a team member
Work collaboratively with building staff to assist tenants and ensure continuous deep cleaning and sanitation of the building with special attention to the high touch area, such as light switches, door handles, countertops, handrails, elevator buttons, faucet handles, etc.

Overview: As a Cook/Housekeeper you are responsible for ensuring all food services functions at the house are executed. Additionally, the Cook ensures the safety of food handling practices, proper sanitation, and compliance with state and federal safety regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid and clean New York State driver's license
Experience in food service or kitchen operations
Experience in housekeeping
Experience working with individuals with disabilities (preferred)
Strong listening skills and the ability to show empathy
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
Demonstrated integrity and discretion in handling confidential information

Paid Time Off:

Pay: $20.00/hr.
What You Will Do:
Overseeing the safe and efficient operation of the culinary area.
Managing grocery shopping and/or ordering supplies.
Preparing raw ingredients for recipes, including washing, chopping, storing, and handling.
Creating well-balanced, nutritious, and appealing meals tailored to participants' dietary needs and restrictions, with appropriate substitutions as needed.
Developing and updating menus, maintaining grocery inventory, and assisting with kitchen equipment upkeep.
Assisting in planning and scheduling special occasion parties.
Following established recipes and using designated ingredients.
Practicing portion control and adhering to diet orders and physician recommendations.
Complying with all food handling and safety regulations.
Managing food storage, refrigeration, and inventory rotation.
Promoting safe food handling practices and encouraging accountability among clients.
Maintaining a clean and orderly workstation and kitchen equipment.
Reporting maintenance needs or hazardous conditions to the Manager or Maintenance Department.
Notifying the supervisor immediately of any necessary house or appliance repairs.
Performing light housekeeping duties, including laundry for the house.
Work Location: Kings Point, NY - Located in Nassau County
Work Hours/Schedule: Full-time, 32 hours per week.Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
