The Medical Laboratory Technician ASCP performs laboratory procedures in a timely and accurate manner according to established hospital and departmental policies and procedures. This position carries out functional duties in the Pre-Analytic, Analytic, and Post-Analytic phases of the laboratory workflow. The technician may be required to share responsibility for delegating work assignments for self and coworkers in the absence of a supervisor or lead. Forensic Nurse As Needed Provide comprehensive forensic nursing care to victims of violence. The forensic nurse cares for patients across the lifespan that present to Meritus Health using evidence-based practice. Maintain clinical competency and participates in continuing education related to medical/forensic issues as outlined by the Maryland Board of Nursing. Coordinates care with the multi-disciplinary team involved in the investigation and with other health care providers. Minimum Qualifications: Education - ASN required. BSN Preferred. Previously grandfathered active RN's who graduated from an accredited nursing school as a Diploma RN will continue to have ASN requirement waived. Experience - Minimum of one-year acute care experience preferred. Other nursing experience will be considered on a case by case basis. Licensure/Certification - Current license to practice as Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland, or if resident of a state that participates in Nurse Multi-State Compact agreement, holds Registered Nurse license from that state that is designated as "Compact" or "Multi-State Privilege" using primary source verification and provides additional documentation as required by the Maryland Board of Nursing. RN license from a compact state with a designation of "Single State" does not meet the requirement and nurse must obtain a Maryland license.
