The Social Worker supports the mission of the Caroline Huber Holistic Wellness Center by providing compassionate, student-centered services that address basic needs, wellness, and personal barriers affecting student success. The Social Worker delivers direct support, case management, crisis response as needed, campus and community referrals, outreach, and education while contributing to the development of a comprehensive, holistic student wellness model. The position will also mentor and oversee social work interns and pre-social work majors at the associate degree level as appropriate. Responsibilities Student Support & Case Management * Manage cases escalated by the Wellness Center front desk for students seeking assistance with basic needs, wellness concerns, or personal challenges. * Conduct holistic assessments to identify basic needs support such as, but not limited to food insecurity, housing instability, transportation, financial hardship, physical and mental health concerns, childcare or safety issues. * Exercise independent judgement in assessing student needs, developing individualized support plans, and determining appropriate interventions and referrals. * Provide ongoing case management, short-term support, and appropriate referrals to campus and community resources. * Collaborate with faculty counselors in managing and stabilizing crises, and respond directly when needed, exercising discretion and expertise to ensure student safety and continuity of care. * Maintain thorough, confidential records while adhering to all legal and ethical guidelines. Intern & Student Supervision * Provide mentorship and supervision to BSW/MSW interns and/or pre-social work major students, including training on ethical practice, case management, documentation, and crisis protocols. * Facilitate intern and student learning through case discussions, skill development, and feedback in coordination with academic field placement staff. * Guide and mentor student, peer-led support groups. * Oversee the training, onboarding, and guidance for interns and peer-support staff.
