Perform focused or comprehensive histories and physical examinations on ED patients and formulate a diagnostic and treatment plan.
The documentation of the patient encounter will be completed on the medical record and will include information pertinent to the history of present illness and past medical history (including allergies and current medications).
Implementing treatment protocols and undertaking clinical decision making, under the supervision of an Emergency Medicine attending, for patients in the ED Observation Unit during its hours of operation.
Write orders for diagnostic tests, medications, consultations, immunizations and clinic referrals.
Review, interpret and document the results of the diagnostic tests ordered.

Write prescriptions in accordance with hospital guidelines.
Counsel patients when appropriate on health education issues and disease prevention.
The PA must present all cases to the supervising Attending Physician.
All referrals for consultation will be discussed with and approved by the supervising Attending Physician.
The PA must review all EKGs, laboratory and radiologic results with the supervising Attending Physician prior to discharging the patient from the ED.
Perform other duties pursuant to clinical responsibility, such as arranging follow-up for patients, obtaining informed consent from patients, recalling patients for further evaluation and treatment, and escorting patients when necessary to other areas of the hospital or interhospital transfers, inform patients of necessary post-discharge instructions as required.
Complete and document participation in continuing medical education required of physicianassistants in order to meet requirements for certification, including assigned lectures and conferences.
Participate in the administrative and academic aspects of the ED in staff meetings, QA activities, conferences, morning reports and other duties as required professionally or at the request of the supervising Attending Physician, the Director of Service, and/or Chief PhysicianAssistant.

Ordering of routine x-rays and laboratory studies

Endotracheal intubation
Participate in the resuscitation of cardiopulmonary and other complex medical emergencies.

Order controlled drugs and psychotropic medications in accordance with established hospital guidelines.
Placement of central venous catheters, venous cutdown, joint aspiration, lumbar puncture and other emergency procedures at the discretion of the supervising Attending Physician.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
PhysicianAssistant may work under a variety of conditions from pleasant to uncomfortable.
Hazardous conditions may exist in the ED, such as patients who exhibit unstable, violent or aggressive behavior. The PhysicianAssistant may be exposed to bio hazardous substances, such as blood-borne pathogens, through the nature of work performed.
Fulltime workweek is forty hours; may be required to work additional hours during staffing shortages, or to complete evaluation or documentation.

Overview
We are recruiting for a faculty position in Radiation Oncology at the Maimonides Cancer Center. We currently have an active practice group of 5 full time faculty and one part time physician, all of whom subspecialize in 2-3 disease sites. We are flexible and not looking for a specific clinical site interest. Our department has 3 linear accelerators including a brand new adaptive capable Ethos unit. We have an active brachytherapy program with both HDR and LDR technologies. We are Brooklyn's first and only department offering radiopharmaceuticals including Pluvicto. We have a residency program that provides ample opportunities for teaching. We have an experienced research team available for clinical trials support. As an academic institution encourage all physicians to engage in research, but this is not required. We have multidisciplinary tumor boards in all areas of oncology with participation of surgeons, pathologists and radiologists.
Responsibilities
* Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and collaborate closely with surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, and medical oncologists to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
* Perform advanced radiation therapy procedures utilizing state-of-the-art technologies, including 3 linear accelerators (with a new adaptive-capable Ethos unit), HDR and LDR brachytherapy, and radiopharmaceuticals (e.g., Pluvicto).

Maimonides Children's Hospital of Brooklyn is recruiting a full-time BC/BE Pediatric Endocrinologist to join its well-established Division of Pediatric Endocrinology & Diabetes. * Evidence of formal, supervised training or clinical experience as required for certain procedures.
* Valid and unlimited license to practice medicine in the State of New York
* Valid license to prescribe controlled substances.
* PALS Certification
* Valid DEA Certification
* Demonstrated experience in area of specialty as set forth in credentialing requirements for that specialty.
* Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
* Salary Range of $220,000-$240,000 per year with opportunity for additional productivity compensation. The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include benefits. Actual salary may not fall within the listed salary range; consideration will be made for experience, skills, training, hospital/community need, and other factors.
