Participate in quality assurance (QA) processes and staff competency in various nutrition related areas (i.e. anthropometry, hematology, nutrition education, etc.)
Act as a mentor and provide technical guidance to staff delivering nutrition services.
Provide leadership in planning, conducting and evaluating participant-centered nutrition education.
Provide nutrition in-service training to local agency staff who provide nutrition services to participants.
Conduct chart reviews and in-service nutrition training.
Stay current with nutrition research and share relevant updates with staff.
Participate in local and state workgroups to improve nutrition and program services.
Provide technical assistance and consultation to local agency staff and other health professionals in nutrition service areas.
Stay current with up-to-date nutrition information and shares with LA staff by attending professional conferences, meetings, seminars, training, and WIC Association functions
The Nutrition Coordinator is expected to adhere to and abide by the roles and responsibilities as outlined in the WIC documentation (Nutrition Coordinator guidance)

Requirements
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Nutritional Sciences, Community Nutrition, Clinical Dietetics, Foods and Nutrition, or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university, or one recognized by the New York State Education Department.
RegisteredDietitian (RD) credential, or eligibility for registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Completion of an accredited dietetic Internship program is required.
