Rockville, MD job
Inspire Change and Lead Excellence - Executive Director Opportunity at The Village at Rockville
Salary range: $170,000-$210,000 annually, commensurate with experience, with eligibility for a discretionary incentive bonus.
You've already proven you can run a strong senior living community. Now you're looking for a place where your leadership can truly change the game. As Executive Director at The Village at Rockville, you'll lead a highly regarded Life Plan Community in Rockville, Maryland, supported by a 130-year, faith-inspired not-for-profit that invests in people. Here, you won't just manage a community - you'll shape how older adults experience home, connection and support in one of the most dynamic regions in the country. If you're an Executive Director who is proud of what you've built but ready for a change, this is your opportunity to lead a flagship community with real influence in the region. Bring your operational expertise, your heart for older adults and your appetite for what's possible - and help write the next chapter for The Village at Rockville.
What Makes it Different for You
You work in a not-for-profit environment where resources are reinvested into residents, team members and the community itself.
You join a leadership team that takes mission seriously and expects the same from you - using faith-inspired values as a filter for tough decisions while welcoming people of all backgrounds.
You will translate NLCS's strategic priorities into clear operating plans, lead a seasoned leadership team, and ensure the community delivers exceptional care and services while achieving key operational and financial goals.
Make the Community Feel Real
On any given day, you might round with your clinical and hospitality leaders, meet with a family weighing a move to the community, walk the grounds with Facilities talking about future capital projects, and end the afternoon representing The Village at Rockville with a local health system or congregation. The decisions you make will show up quickly in occupancy, team engagement and the everyday lives of the people who call this campus home.
In this role, you'll own the full picture: the resident experience, the performance of a seasoned leadership team, regulatory readiness, financial results and the reputation of a well-known campus in the community. You'll be the connector between mission and margin - making sure residents feel known and cared for, team members feel supported and challenged, and the organization sees strong, sustainable results.
You will:
Lead a high-performing team.
Grow and protect occupancy and reputation.
Safeguard quality, safety and compliance.
Steward operating and capital resources wisely.
Represent the community to partners and local leaders.
What You Bring
Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration or related field is required; Master's Degree is preferred.
Must be a licensed Nursing Home Administrator or have the ability to obtain licensure within 6 months of hire.
Proven leadership experience as an Executive Director/Administrator or equivalent senior leader in senior living, health care or a related regulated environment.
Demonstrated success leading large teams, elevating culture and achieving strong resident or patient satisfaction alongside solid financial results.
Strong knowledge of senior living or health care operations, budgeting, regulatory requirements and quality improvement practices.
A collaborative, mission-driven leadership style with excellent communication, relationship-building and decision-making skills, and a passion for partnering with older adults.
Why This Role Matters
In this role, you will steward a long-standing legacy of service while helping define what aging looks like for todays and tomorrow's older adults in the Rockville area. You will have the platform, support and resources of NLCS behind you, while maintaining the autonomy to shape the culture, performance and future direction of a flagship community where purpose truly never stops. If you are ready to move from maintaining a good operation to leading a mission-driven campus with regional visibility and impact, this role offers a unique opportunity to align your leadership with purpose and result.
Culture defines who we are. At NLCS, we cultivate a culture of transparency, inclusion, and empowerment-where everyone is valued, respected, and encouraged to bring their authentic selves to work. We also invest in your well-being with exceptional benefits and perks, including:
