Under the general direction and supervision of the Director of Laboratory Operations, the Research Associate will effectively apply a working knowledge and skill of designated Research Associate-related duties and tasks, in support of the Department as a whole, to complete the daily assigned Histology workload. Requirements Research and review the literature to find the best antibodies for IHC and IF Design and recommend processes, systems, and operational changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness Maintain laboratory organization and team priorities to complete projects with client-expected turnaround time Lead project update meetings with clients Design experiments and interpret results, while thinking critically about research projects Write IHC validation reports for pharma clients Coordinate in ordering supplies and maintain inventory for the AIR department Develop new protocols and assays, including Multiplex mIF panels Troubleshoot quality issues and work with pathologists to QC slides Oversee and perform biomarker and equipment validations Perform IHC, IF and ISH via RNAScope independently Position Requirements: Bachelors degree in scientific field preferred Tech-savvy, fast learner. Research Assistant III | Type 1 Diabetes New York, Onsite 5 days a week JAX | NYSCF's Type 1 Diabetes team is seeking a Research Assistant III. Reporting to a Principal Scientist, you will work closely with other members of the JAX | NYSCF Research Institute, including stem cell biologists, automation engineers, software developers, bioinformatics, and operations. In this role you will help support several ongoing projects, performing cell culturing and differentiation to contribute to the overall goals of the Type 1 Diabetes team. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and ambitious with a strong interest in Type 1 Diabetes, immunology, and stem cell research. They will have hands-on experience with a variety of laboratory techniques, including pluripotent stem cell cultures and the execution of in vitro immunological assays; and comfortable or have experience with small animal handling. Training is provided for those without experience. What you'll do Perform cell culture to support ongoing projects (including stem cell culture and differentiation). Perform flow cytometry and immunostaining. Perform in vivo work with mice, including SQ/IP injections, blood collection, intraperitoneal procedures, and tissue harvest.
