Regions Hospital Laboratory is currently seeking a professional, quality-focused Laboratory Service Technician to join our team. The Lab Services Technician will provide a wide range of laboratory services including: Specimen collection. Client service and reception desk duties, ordering/ scheduling/ billing functions Laboratory testing. Phlebotomy, dispatching. Specimen processing. Centrifuging, delivery of specimens to appropriate lab/ department. Assuring proper efficiency and workflow management and ECG tracings. This position will also serve as a resource for questions from hospital and clinic staff regarding specimen handling and processing. Work schedule: FTE .5, Day Shift, every third weekend, Rotating holidays. Preferred Qualifications: Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination: Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Health care experience to include phlebotomy. Completion of a health care program (e.g. CMA, EMT, Paramedic, phlebotomy). Department: Plant Services Schedule/Status: Varies; Full Time Standard Hours/Week: 40 General Description: Under the direct supervision of the Plant Operations manager, the Mechanic performs maintenance work necessary to move, install, repair or erect all types of hospital equipment. Works in accordance with prints, sketches, manual or instructions interpreting mechanical requirements and calculating necessary dimensions. Phlebotomist - Laboratory Support Service Tech (LSST) functions as a professional interdisciplinary team member that performs a wide range of services in clinic and hospital-based laboratories such as specimen collection, specimen processing, waived point of care laboratory testing, and a variety of other services unique to the individual work area. The LSST is responsible for blood and body fluid specimen receipt, identification verification, processing, shipping, and storage. They facilitate the collection and processing of large volumes of specimens for multiple laboratory testing sites and accurately prepares lab specimens and containers with reagents as required for the ordered testing.
