He served as Desalination Committee Chair for CA-NV AWWA for 3 years and is the current Water Resources Division Chair. He is an active member of several national AWWA committees and served as reviewer and chapters coordinator for couple of recent AWWA manuals and the Water Treatment Plant Design Handbook, 5th edition. He is presently leading the effort to prepare a new AWWA manual (M62) entitled \'Membrane Applications for Water Reuse.\' He is a registered professional engineer in the states of California (ChE and CE), Florida (CE), and Washington (ChE), and is a Board Certified Environmental Engineer. He served as the president of Chinese American Environmental Professionals Association in 1998-99 and 2009-2010.

- published two articles in professional magazines and was second author of another article in the WER journal

- presented 8 papers in regional, national and international conferences (WQTC, WateReuse, WEFTEC, etc.)

- served on the program committee for California WateReuse Annual Conference and CA-NV AWWA Desalination Workshops, and as moderator for WEFTEC2012

- selected as Water Resources Division Chair for CA-NV AWWA and received Rock Star Award

- appointed AWWA Submcommitte Chair for preparing a new manual M62
