As a Senior Contracts Manager, you'll be a trusted advisor to project teams, helping them navigate complex agreements and make informed business decisions. You'll use your communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to review contracts, guide negotiations, and identify risks-contributing to the successful delivery of design-build and related projects in the water and wastewater industry. Detailed Description * Advise project teams involved in design-build and related projects, either in a contractor role, designer role, or both, as to appropriate contractual terms in a variety of settings. * Review RFPs and the associated contracts, provide contract risk assessments including proposed contract changes and exceptions and suggest risk mitigation measures. * Be responsible to draft and review a variety of agreements, including NDAs, teaming agreements, joint ventures, prime contracts, and subcontracts. * Maintain close working relationships with applicable leadership team, sales and delivery managers, other members of the legal department, as well as other internal core services groups necessary to achieve comprehensive review and risk assessment (cybersecurity, tax, insurance, etc.). * Serve as one of the organization's contacts to address questions related to existing contracts and contract processes. * Prioritize between multiple projects on a time-sensitive basis. Desired Skills and Experience * A minimum of 8 years working as a contracts manager or similar role * Substantial knowledge and experience with design-build projects and standard contract forms (such as DBIA and EJCDC), preferably in the water and wastewater industry * Experience building strong relationships with project teams and influencing decisions * Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of related experience * Senior level experience negotiating contracts with a pragmatic, flexible negotiation style based on sound business acumen * Public-Private Partnership (PPP/P3) and/or Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) experience a plus. * Strong understanding of legal concepts (e.g., standard of care, liability, insurances, indemnification, acceptance, warranties, intellectual property rights, etc.) and state and local contracting practices * Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and Teams, and other contract management technology * Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and communication (oral and written) skills * Exceptional business ethics, influence, and leadership skills Salary Range: The hourly pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES In this position, you will: * Split time among completing technical tasks, such as field assignments, reporting, and analysis of task management and project management support activities. * Leverage understanding of technical scopes of work for assigned work and their alignment with overall project objectives to deliver quality assignments. * Demonstrate and apply technical competence, knowledge of codes and regulations, and professional standards of practice to assigned tasks. * Collaborate closely with project teams, field teams, and health and safety personnel to address client goals and objectives, ensuring technical accuracy, quality, budget, schedule, and safety requirements are met. * Assist the project management team throughout the project lifecycle, including cost estimating, scheduling, subcontracting, resource allocation, project planning, task delegation, and financial management. * Prepare and/or review written communications and technical deliverables. * Engage in internal and external communications with clients, subcontractors, and vendors. * Coach, mentor, and direct junior staff to ensure high-quality execution of project tasks, including field activities and preparation of technical reports and deliverables, while facilitating knowledge transfer for team development. * Plan and manage field investigation programs, including pre-design laboratory and field data and/or pilot testing data collection programs associated with environmental projects. * Lead and oversee project environmental data reduction, summarization, visualization tasks; feasibility studies, remedial design, cost estimating and permitting tasks, remedial construction, and remedial system O&M tasks. * Plan all work in accordance with company and client health and safety protocols. * Demonstrate the company's foundational safety behaviors. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Minimum Skills and Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Geology. * 6+ years of related experience. * Professional CA registration or certification, as applicable. * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. * Proficient computer literacy skills, including the use of the Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint) and the ability to learn various software needed to support financial management, diverse project needs, and client requirements. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Working knowledge of GIS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and groundwater modeling software. * Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks pertinent to the work. * Able to meet the physical requirements of the position: lift 50 lbs., traverse unstable/sloping sites and landscapes, work outside in a range of weather conditions, and have the stamina for moderate physical activity for the majority of field working hours. * Able to travel to work locations that may require overnight stays. Preferred Skills: * Master's degree in Geology. * Some project management or task management experience is a plus. * Familiarity with soil, groundwater, and air treatment technologies. * Familiarity with groundwater fate and transport modeling and conceptual site model development. * Design and construction experience with environmental remediation projects. * OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and refresher updates The salary range for this position in Costa Mesa, CA is $95,000 - $110,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions.
