The Senior Commercial Lines Account Manager will be the main client contact and account coordinator for an assigned small to medium-sized book of business, use appropriate judgment and decision-making skills to provide service for customer accounts and transactions, in support of the production and retention of the business.     General Description Responsible for monitoring and communicating ongoing and changing laws affecting health and welfare plans, including ACA, ERISA, the Code, HIPAA, and COBRA. The individual in this role will be responsible for the development and presentation of materials on various health and welfare compliance related issues to internal sales teams, as well as external clients. Specifically, must have full competence with MS Office Suite products and Adobe products Must have background and thorough understanding of the various laws that impact health and welfare plans including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, Internal Revenue Code and insurance laws that affect these programs. Must be comfortable in a public speaking environment and demonstrate ability to convey complex information in a simple and organized format to a wide variety of audiences. Maintains extensive contact in person, by phone and mail (electronic/postal), with clients, insurance company contacts, prospects, service line personnel, and division managers to facilitate appropriate and comprehensive product customer service. Monitor expiration listings and participate in renewal collaboration with service personnel, follow-up as appropriate to seek information for renewal submissions with contacts. Creating WOW Provides guidance, assistance, and follow-up customer service to established clients and prospective customers. Initiates search and contacts prospective customers through existing client referrals and identified targeted groups. Schedules appointments, solicits quote opportunities, and conducts product orientation sessions. Prepares sales proposals and marketing information including coverages, limits, deductibles, exclusions, and cost comparisons. Delivers and discusses information with clients or prospects. Earning Trust Responsible for sales of new and renewal product lines business, calling on clients and prospects, identifying and assessment of client needs, and development of coverage proposals. Conducts detailed surveys to identify customer insurance needs, reviews existing policies, risk plans, property, products, and records. Expected to achieve annual producer sales plan objectives. Embracing Innovation Maintains electronic and/or paper production files in an orderly, timely manner to ensure follow-up on outstanding or pending business matters. Attends sales meetings as required. Keeps informed through vigilant review and appraisal of industry development and competitive markets, participates in carrier and agency training meetings and sessions, and maintains appropriate licensure. What You'll Bring to Us Must be a High School graduate or GED, while advanced training at the technical business, or college level is highly desired. Three years prior work experience in sales, insurance industry or a related field is preferred. Ability to pursue and close sales. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and enjoy working with people in a high-volume customer service environment. Ability to be highly organized, yet flexible in dealing with shifting priorities and fluctuating workloads. Desire to learn and expand knowledge within the industry while learning about clients' specific needs. Ability to read and interpret complex industry documents such as policy limitations, underwriting standards, and procedure/policy manuals, and apply within prescribed routines and practices. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with limited supervision, while maintaining positive staff relationships within a teamwork environment. Must possess basic familiarity with computers and office equipment, experience with Windows applications such as Microsoft Excel and Word, and the Internet are highly desired. Must be able to secure and maintain insurance licensure, at company expense. Travel to client offices and networking events will be expected.
