Understands carrier guidelines including systems processes related to underwriter duties. Underwrites and prices accounts per specific carrier guidelines. Issues quotes and binders documenting insurance coverages. Develops and promotes broker/agent relationships to help reach production goals. Recognizes and evaluates inherent hazards and exposure associated with the individual risks. Underwrites and binds new and renewal business. Reviews and evaluates mid-term changes in exposure. Reviews existing accounts for potential non-renewal due to claims activity or increase in unacceptable exposure. Reviews for cancellation (i.e., non-payment of premium, insured's request to cancel, etc.) Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree and ten or more years related experience in the insurance industry and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) preferred. Understanding of policy construction for both ISO property and manuscript property forms and the ability to draft manuscript policy endorsements. Experience with CAT Modeling - RMS including layering, treaty booking, peril exclusions, etc. Experience with various building construction types and occupancies, and how these judgments effect CAT modeling. Experience with booking of accounts, endorsements, and additional and return premiums. Experience with pricing - rate development for fire, AOP, Named Windstorm, Convective Storm, Flood. Experience dealing directly with brokers to develop relationships. Has a deep understanding of commercial property insurance and the ability to follow multiple carrier guidelines per account. Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, policy and accounting systems, and vendor specific computer programs. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple tasks. Routine or periodic travel which may require the teammate to drive their own vehicle or a rental vehicle. Valid driver's license and possess an acceptable motor vehicle record at the time of hire and periodically thereafter. This position also requires excellence in customer satisfaction to exceed client expectations. This position will be located on-site at Fulton County Schools in Atlanta, GA. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Work with FCS to accomplish specific goals and outcomes throughout the new product implementation and ongoing processes. • Consult with FCS to provide education, guidance, and assistance to implement appropriate employee benefit options. • Proactively seek areas for improvement. • Promptly respond and follow up with client inquiries and issues. • Coordinate client service issues with the appropriate benefit carrier. Serve as the liaison between the client and the carrier. • Maintain a close, cooperative relationship with benefit carriers. • Provide FCS with open enrollment support. • Assist with the client new hire orientations, enrollments, and benefits as needed. • Maintain and update FCS online Employee Benefit Center. • Schedule and help conduct open enrollment and renewal meetings. • Assist with client new hire employee benefits. • Assist with mid-year changes to benefits. • Prepare and present employee benefit training for clients. • Collaborate with fellow Alexander & Company employees to address common issues. • Help with special projects as needed. • Scheduling meetings and arranging for lunches, as needed. • Other duties as assigned.
