The Details:
Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Investments, the VP, Investments will focus on developing and implementing major aspects of the investment strategy for Palomar's $1.3 billion investment portfolio. As a leader on the investment team, the position will be responsible for overseeing several of the major investment portfolio decisions, a portion of which will be in coordination with third-party asset managers. Responsibilities will include both individual security selection as well as broader asset allocation and sector decisions. The position will also be responsible for sourcing and managing new potential relationships with specialist asset managers and optimizing the management of Palomar's cash and cash equivalents.
What will you do? (Job Duties)
· Collaborate as one of the lead members of an investment team overseeing a $1.3 billion multi-asset portfolio spanning both public and private market strategies.
· Develop, evaluate, and recommend long term asset allocation strategies to optimize yield while maintaining a strong focus on capital preservation and liquidity.
· Execute security-selection decisions over shorter time horizons, participate in new-issue evaluation and pricing, and implement tactical adjustments to portfolio positioning.
· Design, review, and recommend strategies for cash investment, cash pooling, and collateral management to ensure optimal use of resources.
· Lead the development and implementation of Investment Policy updates aligned with business objectives and growth priorities.
· Monitor and evaluate investment manager performance and direct manager selection processes when new mandates are required.
· Mentor, educate, and support emerging talent on the portfolio management team.
Requirements
What we are looking for: (Experience)
· Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or other business-related field, but flexible if experience and requirements are met
· 5+ years of fixed income investment management experience
· Strong understanding of fixed income instruments and investment strategies including investment grade and high yield corporate credit, mortgage-backed securities, structured credit, municipals, equities including preferred equities, and alternatives including both private equity and private credit, etc.
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct in-depth research and make convicted investment decisions, following comprehensive research and analysis.
· Investment experience both at the security level and the broad sector and asset level with an understanding of credit and duration risk within an asset liability framework
· Advanced experience with Bloomberg, Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel
· Experience establishing and fostering relationships with external parties.

Pay Range: $215,000 - $315,000
The above pay range is for all US-based roles based on function and level, benchmarked against companies of comparable size and scope. THE OPPORTUNITY:
* The Commercial Lines Account Executive manages an assigned book of business, develops client relationships and delivers to grow and retain clients. * Establishes and maintains strong and productive professional relationships with insurance carrier marketing, underwriting, and risk control staff, including a detailed familiarity with each carrier's products and services in support of assigned clients.
* Directly oversees and coordinates the delivery of all HUB services to assigned clients throughout the policy cycle, including stewardship reports, delivery of risk control services, carrier meetings, claims reviews, preparation of coverage outlines, and marketing of emergent and renewal coverage requests.
* Alongside the Producer, if assigned, or primarily responsible for maintaining current receivable status for assigned clients. Proactive efforts to collect receivables more than 30 days past-due should be undertaken, with each unresolved circumstance documented and reported to accounting.
* Ensures that all client service needs are promptly and professionally delivered, either directly by the AE or via HUB colleagues (e.g. AMs, Small Business Unit, Risk Control,

+ Remarket renewals, contact clients, create renewal proposals and handle other renewal activities in coordination with the producer and/or Account Manager.
+ Gather underwriting, pricing, and supporting data for preparation of submission.
+ Assist Producers and/or Account Managers in the premium collection process and handle accounting issues.
+ Responsible for follow up on delinquent accounts which have been set to cancel for non-payment by the carrier.
+ Refers current and prospective clients to other departments for solicitation of those lines of business.
+ Assist clients with claims when necessary.

Summary

THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Client Service Director (CSD) is a critical leadership position in the Commercial Lines team within the HUB SoCal Region. This role provides service oversight for one or more High Performing Teams (HPTs). Works closely with Producers to
* Ensure the High Performing Teams (HPTs) are effective and hit desired long-term outcomes such as maintaining and improving client retention, team member retention and engagement, and organic growth levers (such as account rounding, cross-sell, and more).
* Manage, support, and coach team members to ensure they are performing effectively in their current roles while also ensuring they develop and grow in their broader career at HUB.
* Utilize data analytics capabilities to identify and understand any root cause issues that are getting in the way of financial health of the accounts and/or books of business.
* Partner with the Commercial Lines Practice Leader to ensure book sizes are optimized across the teams.
* Cultivate and sustain strategic relationships with insurance carrier partners, serving as a trusted advisor and value-added collaborator to advance mutual goals and long-term partnerships.
* Provide Commercial Lines Insurance and Client Service thought leadership to the broader team, and also directly on select accounts.
* Ensure HUB SoCal is building the next generation of top insurance professionals (via recruiting, onboarding, and talent brand engagement).

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
* Minimum 7 - 10 years of insurance brokerage experience, preferably in Commercial Lines.

* Proficient with computer systems, including but not limited to Microsoft Office and EPIC.
* Industry designation (e.g., CPRIA, CPCU, CIC) considered an asset.
* This position is a hybrid role requiring 4 days in the office and 1 day working from home each week.
