THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Employee Benefits AccountManagement team provides critical support to clients through day-to-day program oversight, client advocacy and systems management in order to effectively managing their health and welfare programs. The AccountManager II acts with a high degree of independent discretion, autonomy, and decision-making in managing a book of business. The AccountManager II facilitates positive and effective relationships sales and/or account team colleagues.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Managing all aspects of the account-service process.
Works closely with Producers and other HUB personnel on all aspects of client service, marketing, and renewal while adhering to HUB's best practices and standard procedures.
Acquires understanding of clients' business and insurance objectives and critically analyzes and compares insurance plans to determine suitability.
Establishes and maintain strong business relationships with clients and insurance carriers.
Serve as client point of contact for day-to-day eligibility, claims, billing and benefit administration inquiries; acts as liaison between clients and insurance carriers to resolve service issues.
Maintains accurate and organized account files by appropriately documenting conversations with clients and carrier representatives; updates all HUB computer systems and automated agency management systems; ensures the accuracy of data.
Seeks continued knowledge and stays abreast of changes in the insurance industry and other external conditions that may impact their clients. Makes appropriate recommendations to clients in response to those changes; Attends industry related continuing education training and courses.
Update open enrollment packets including current benefits and rates for all lines of coverage, cobra administration forms, written plan documents and summary plan descriptions, on an annual basis for clients; may also include 5500 filings.
Submit BOR letter to all carriers and follow-up to obtain contracts, obtain current renewal and current benefit descriptions.
Marketing to carriers.
Preparing quotes and proposals.
Assists client with all billing issues including auditing and reconciliation.
Gather data and prepare/conduct presentations (Renewal/OE/Post Renewal Debrief)
Lead implementation of new and renewal plans or programs.
Apprise clients of other HUB resources, carrier/vendor offerings and emerging industry trends.
Prepare and/or peer review (and deliver, if applicable) the EB Comp Disclosure.
Obtain post-enrollment numbers for each plan.
Prepare Annual Legal Notices.
Facilitate Ben Admin/HRIS System Updates (Ease, ADP, Paylocity, etc.).
Set-up HR Advocacy Tool, Legal Compliance Resources and Wellness value adds
Review contracts, line-by-line, for accuracy.
Participate in carrier/vendor program implementations and initiates payments to vendors.
Partners with producer(s) to develop and implement clients' benefits strategies; including designing benefit programs based on client objectives, performing financial analysis, plan assessment, benchmarking, funding alternatives.
Provides training as a subject-matter-expert to other Client Services team members on various topics.
Supports, mentors, and trains other support staff members.
Oversees functions performed by less experienced AccountManagers and Assistant AccountManagers as required.
Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma / GED; College degree strongly preferred
3-5 years of benefit insurance accountmanagement experience (brokage preferred) or equivalent combination of education & experience

Primary Duties

Summary

The Personal Lines Account Executive manages an assigned book of business, develops client relationship, and strives to grow and retain clients. May work alongside the Producer, the Account Executive is responsible for overseeing the management of assigned accounts including interacting with appropriate decision makers, proactive consultation, insurance program design, carrier interface/marketing, coordination of risk control resources, relevant collaboration with colleagues throughout HUB, and negotiation of coverage terms and conditions. The Account Executive may work with other members of the client service team, utilizing available resources and personnel as appropriate, in service-related activities in support of clients.
* May work alongside and cooperatively with Producers, if assigned on accounts, serve as the HUB's primary consultant to the client. The Producer has primary responsibility for client relationship management and initiating new sales. The AE has primary responsibility for retaining the account, acting as the de facto technical expert and broker-consultant. (In some instances, when no Producer is assigned, the AE is primarily responsible for client relationship management.)
* Ensure Producers, when assigned, are fully informed about, and prepared for all client meetings and interfaces to be able to manage the client relationship competently and proactively.
* Establish and maintain strong and productive professional relationships with "C-Level" and other decision makers for assigned HUB clients.
* Obtains a detailed knowledge of the client's business and industry, articulates applicable exposures to loss, insurance coverages, and appropriate/available risk management/control solutions.
* Establish and maintain strong and productive professional relationships with insurance carrier marketing, underwriting, and risk control staff, including a detailed familiarity with each carrier's products and services in support of assigned clients.
* Directly oversee and coordinate the delivery of all HUB services to assigned clients throughout the policy cycle, including stewardship reports, delivery of risk control services, carrier meetings, claims reviews, preparation of coverage outlines, and marketing of emergent and renewal coverage requests.
* Work cooperatively and professionally with AM colleagues to deliver HUB services as described above, using the interface as an opportunity to teach, train, and mentor AM team members. Provide input and feedback to the Head of P&C as to the performance of AM staff on assigned accounts. (When applicable)
* Ensure that all client service needs are promptly and professionally delivered, either directly by the AE or via HUB colleagues (e.g., AMs, Small Business Unit, Risk Control, etc.). The AE is accountable for the competence, timeliness, and quality of all deliverables to the client.
* Conduct annual review w/clients making coverage and loss control recommendations focused on reducing the client's total cost of risk.
* Identify opportunities for cross-sell and up-sell of other HUB products and services when appropriate for the client's needs, initiating same. At all times, be knowledgeable about and document what other insurance products and services the clients are purchasing through other providers and who those providers are.
* Work with the Producer, if assigned, or be primarily responsible for maintaining current receivable status for assigned clients. Proactive efforts to collect receivables more than 30 days past-due should be undertaken, with each unresolved circumstance documented and reported to accounting.
* Designs and delivers effective group presentations using various media, including but not limited to conducting internal training to a sales or renewal presentation at a client's office.
* Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

The Account Executive develops, manages and expands relationships with employee benefit clients by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities:
* Manages assigned book of business, develops client relationships and meets strategic objectives to grow and retain clients.
* Helps to develop and implement client's benefits strategies.
* Prepares a plan for each account to identify what and how short and long term needs may be met.
* Interfaces with the client at both the HR Manager/Director as well as the C-Suite level to understand the customer's overall objectives and requirements.
* Maintains regular interactions with clients to develop client relationship as well as advise of new product and service offerings and obtain feedback on performance
* Ensures all services are implemented according to established project plans and all client deliverables meet quality standards.
* Acts as the "quarterback" directing the account team, which may be comprised of an Account Representative(s) and Benefit Analyst(s) on all client work and deliverables.
* Ensures account team is executing deliverables according to standards and best practices
* Coaches and mentors the account team and provides direction to the team on:
* RFP and marketing process, including which carriers to include in marketing and negotiating rates with carriers
* Strategies for new and renewing plans
* Pre-renewal and renewal timelines, project plans, meetings and presentations
* Working with clients to identify the possibility of wellness initiatives; pulls in the Wellness Consultant/team to develop alternatives, determine specific plans and implement
* Offering and implementing value-added services
* Developing client's 3-5 year strategic plan as well as the annual planning calendar and ensuring successful execution
* SPD wrap documents and 5500 filings
* Strategies and execution for ACA requirements, COVID and new administration legislation
* Provides Client's experience reporting requirements
* Carrier and vendor management
* Communications
* All aspects of executing Open Enrollment
* Provides direction on contribution modeling with Benefit Analysts
* Is the team point person regarding escalation of issues or activities that the customer encounters with benefits programs and services.
* Understands and can explain all aspects of carrier renewals for assigned clients
* Prepares and conducts financial, technical and product presentations and demonstrations.
* Shares ideas and customer needs throughout all phases of service life cycle (plan, design, integrate, install, manage).
* Keeps current on changes in legislation impacting employee benefit programs and communicates with clients on these changes.
* Is well educated on all HUB products and services.
* Coordinates with the producer on any out-of-scope services
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
* 5+ years of related experience within a brokerage environment
* Self-funding experience is preferred
* Experience as a strategic lead for accounts (leading client meetings, client teams and the delegation of deliverables)
* Must hold a valid CA Life Agent license.
