    Applications are being accepted for a 6 hour 45 minute per day Special Education Resource Paraprofessional position at the CHAP Center. The special education paraprofessional works under the direction and supervision of a teacher or other designated member of the school staff. The special education paraprofessional helps special education students acquire skills and competencies taught by the classroom teacher. Duties include supervising and working with students both one on one and in small groups when needed assisting the teacher in the classroom. Duties also include lifting, giving physical assistance, assisting in the lunchroom, and with toileting, transportation, and recreational activities in all areas of the building. Required qualifications are that the applicant not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself or others with or without reasonable accommodations, and must be capable of regularly attending to the duties of the position assigned and for the duration of the assignment. This position is subject to a veterans preference.
