Position Overview: As a Principal Electrical Engineer on Mercury Marine's Product Development Team, you will lead component design and validation of both Low and High Voltage harness and connection systems for Mercury's developing spark ignited and electric propulsion systems. In this role you will interact with engineers and technicians on the vessel design teams for the integration of Mercury's propulsion and the vessel electronics systems. Essential Functions: Lead a small team of engineers and technicians pertaining to project responsibilities, priorities, workload, etc. Oversee Development of LV and HV schematics Selection of appropriate connectors, contacts, wire, shielding, and cable Identify suppliers of LV and HV harness components Work with internal and external manufacturing facilities for both prototype and production builds Participate in and facilitate concept reviews, design reviews, and design FMEAs Facilitate or participate in harness mockup/design reviews Write test requests and create technical reports Development and execution of validation plans Support system-level vessel testing and validation of electrical hardware Assist with or lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for technical issues related to electrical harnesses Participate in cross-functional product development teams through Mercury's High-Performance Product Development stage-gated process Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way. Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering 8 years of related experience Prior team leadership experience Excellent problem definition and solving techniques Strong teamwork skills and ability to work among cross-functional teams Preferred Qualifications: PTC / CREO tool experience Experience working with Low and High Voltage harnessing Familiarity with industry standards for HV harnessing, cables, and connectors Familiarity with applicable standards such as SAE J1127, J1128, J378, and U.S. Coast Guard CFR 183.450 Electrical System Standard The anticipated pay range for this position is $100,900 to $160,800 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job- related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate's qualifications and the business context.
