Vast is looking for a GNC Simulation Infrastructure Engineer, reporting to the Senior Director, Flight Dynamics and GNC, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.
This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain cloud storage and computing solutions for GNC simulations and analysis data.
Develop and maintain custom front-ends for presenting relevant GNC data.
Develop and maintain custom CI/CD pipelines for GNC software.
Manage and maintain large data sets generated by Monte-Carlo simulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Science, or other engineering discipline.
2+ years of industry experience with cloud computing, storage, and containerized handling of engineering applications.
2+ years of industry experience with front-end web development for interactive analysis of engineering data.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Experience with executing and processing data from Monte-Carlo simulations.
Experience with front-end web development for 3D visualizations.
Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to easily navigate through different computer software programs.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to make independent judgments with limited information.
Communication skills for relaying data (verbally and in-writing) between other employees, vendors, and customers.
Logical and strategic approach to solving problems.
Comfortable working in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time, and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction.
Additional Requirements:
Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones.
Salary Range: California$110,000-$170,000 USDCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Base salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand.
