WNY Market Campus Tutor The Learning Center Hub tutor is a part of the academic team fostering the success of students at the Western New York campuses. The tutor will work closely with faculty and administrative staff in assisting students with issues of academic enhancement and remediation. This includes providing a comfortable learning environment for students to receive both formal and informal academic assistance. The LCH offers tutoring services in the areas of composition/writing, math, as well as areas related to current curriculum including but not limited to: business, accounting, allied health, etc. At this time, we are looking for a candidate with a background in the sciences, mainly, general biology and chemistry to tutor students in clinical programs including nursing, physical therapist assistant, and medical assistant. Job Description : Tutoring Services: Provide on-demand or by appointment tutoring services both on campus and remotely for individual or groups of students in areas of math, writing/composition, or specific areas of study. Provide guidance in the use of a variety of academic and productivity software programs. Document use of resources and services as requested by academic management. Develop and deliver academic workshops to students as needed. Proctor tests required for college admission and placement as well as make-up tests provided by faculty members. Document use of testing services and provide results of tests to other college departments as requested Campus support: Act as a substitute instructor when needed. Assist WNY campuses in academic administrative tasks as needed. Attend or assist with college events as needed such as orientation, open house, etc. Other: Attend staff meetings and training opportunities as needed. Maintain certifications as test proctor as required. Position qualifications and expectations: A Bachelor degree is required; Master degree is preferred. Experience as professional tutor or instructor is preferred. Ability to interact well with others and work in a team environment Ability to travel to all three Western New York campuses - Buffalo, Amherst, Orchard Park Work schedule will be assessed on an ongoing basis and recalibrated as needed to suit the needs of the college.
