Ohio Citizen Action Education Fund (OCAEF) is seeking a dedicated Co-Op Community Organizer to support our expanding grassroots programs for clean energy accessibility in rural Ohio. This role plays a critical part in building and sustaining local leadership within existing power structures, supporting candidates canvassing efforts, and combating misinformation about renewable energy. This position also serves as the public-facing representation of OCAEF at in-person and virtual coalition meetings, events, and with media.
Working closely with the Director of Programs and Administrative Research Manager, this position will help scale our organizing footprint in rural Ohio. The ideal candidate is an adaptable, community-centered organizer with strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to deep canvassing values, and the ability to thrive in rural communities.
This role requiresextensive in-state travel, evening and weekend work during major campaign moments, and a willingness to spend significant time engaging residents face-to-face. Mileage reimbursement is provided. This role reports to the Director of Programs.
Responsibilities
Organizing (60%)
Identify potential candidates for rural electric co-ops
Design and implement programs to support community education and mobilization.
Assist with volunteer recruitment, training, and retention for GOTV and deep canvassing.
Help facilitate community conversations that build trust and shift narratives around renewable energy in rural counties.
Participate in field and phone canvassing.
Data, Analysis, and Mapping (10%)
Track, analyze, and maintain data using CallHub, VAN, and Google Sheets.
Maintain progress and deliverables reports for grantors.
Communications & Digital Support (10%)
Help maintain and engage with campaign social media pages.
Draft and send email communications to engage supporters and mobilize participation.
Support on-the-ground visibility efforts such as yard sign distribution, tabling, and local presence at community events.
Administrative & Coalition Support (20%)
Provide logistical support, including scheduling, materials preparation, onboarding volunteers, and meeting follow-up.
Work collaboratively with statewide coalition partners when appropriate.
Represent OCAEF at in-person and virtual coalition meetings

Summer 2026 Internship Opportunity
The Greenhouse & Research Internship at Mt. Cuba Center offers an exceptional opportunity to gain experience in native plant propagation and research. The intern will participate in all aspects of greenhouse operation and plant propagation to assist in the production of plants in our indoor and outdoor growing facilities. Throughout the summer season, the intern will be exposed to the over 300 accessions of herbaceous and woody native plants produced per year for use in our gardens and research programs. Essential Functions of the Role
This dynamic position provides experience in horticultural research across stages of plant growth from seed to mature plants. The intern will work closely with both the Greenhouse and Trial Garden teams while developing essential skills and knowledge.
Primary Responsibilities Include
Greenhouse Operations:

* Support the Director/Assistant Director of Video during athletic and campus events, including operating video boards at Doyt Perry Stadium, Stroh Center, Slater Family Ice Arena, and the Rec & Wellness Center.
* Contribute to the creation of graphics and multimedia content for digital and social media platforms
* Participate in collaborative projects with the athletics communications, marketing, and sponsorship teams.
* Complete other tasks as assigned to support learning objectives under supervision.
* Enrolled in one of the following academic programs:
* Visual Communication Technology
* Media Production and Studies
* Digital Arts
* Graphic Design
* Experience in video shooting and editing.
* Basic proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, and Microsoft Office.
* Familiarity with both PC and Mac platforms.
* Dependable, organized, detail-oriented, and able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Learning/Training Objectives:
* Gain practical skills in video production, editing, and multimedia design.
* Learn to operate professional video and graphics equipment in live event settings.
* Develop teamwork, time management, and project coordination skills in a fast-paced environment.
* Understand workflow processes in collegiate athletics media and brand management.
* Enhance a professional portfolio suitable for academic credit or future employment.
* This internship is eligible for academic credit with approval from the student's program/college.
* Hours: 20-28 per week, flexible to align with academic schedule.
* Stipend: $1,000 per semester, intended to support educational learning outcomes.
