As a Registered Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for promoting and educating communities, medical providers, dental providers, and other community partners. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of oral health and oral hygiene practices and how they relate to overall health. Promotion of overall oral health is required to be 32 hours a week which are considered non-direct care services. These include oral health promotion and population based screenings. Eight hours a week may be utilized to provide direct services for the school-based sealant program targeting underserved populations, provide dental health education and complete oral health screenings for children across daycares, preschools, and outreach clinics to Iowans to reduce the burden of oral disease. The work will be completed in conjunction with the Direct Dental Services Planner. Cherokee Regional Medical Center is currently seeking a full time Physical Therapist interested in providing exceptional, patient-centered care. The department features a beautiful therapy gym, private treatment rooms, and a warm water therapy pool. The position is 40 hours/week with rotating weekends every 6-8 weeks. Responsibilities Include: * Administers physical therapy as directed and supervised by a licensed physical therapist in accordance with State of Iowa law. * Works in a fast paced, rural health system seeing inpatients, outpatients and home health. * Maintains timely progress notes for patients in accordance with hospital policy. * Submits appropriate charges in electronic medical record system. * Collaborates with hospital departments to deliver coordinated patient care. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Assesses patients who enter the emergency room and diagnoses a variety of conditions, including injuries, illnesses, and oversees emergency recovery. * Evaluates the medical history of patients. * Requests the appropriate medical tests and based on them, follows a treatment plan. * Orders or executes various tests, analyses and diagnostic images to provide information on a patient's condition. * Analyzes reports and findings of tests and examination and diagnoses conditions of patients. * Develops effective patient care plans. * Conducts follow-up visits to monitor the patient's condition * Administers or prescribes treatments. * Implements procedures for infection control and waste management, and ensures compliance with EMTALA, OSHA, EPA, and CDC. * Discusses any possible side effects to medication or immunization with patients. * Refers patients to appropriate specialists. * Coordinates with different departments to ensure patients receive the necessary treatment. * Ensures that patients are stable before transferring them to the proper department or higher level of care for further evaluation. * Responds to and leads Code Blue, Rapid Response and resuscitation efforts within the hospital, ensuring rapid assessment, coordination of the response team, and implementation of advanced life support protocols. * Promotes health by advising patients about diet, hygiene and methods for prevention of disease. * Provides patient instruction and advice on prevention, self-care, follow-up care, and instructions for discharge and any relevant paperwork. * Maintains patients' medical records. * Attends and participates in department meetings, medical staff meetings and continuing education. Education: * Graduation from an accredited graduate or postgraduate nurse practitioner program as a certified nurse practitioner; * or, Graduate of Physician Assistant program which has been accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, or its successor License/Registration/Certification: * Required: Current RN licensure in the State of Iowa, if applicable * Required: IA Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner's License or IA Physician's Assistant License * Required: DEA Certificate * Required: BLS, ALTS, NRP and PALS certified. Performs venipunctures and documents appropriately. * Orders tests/labs etc with correct patient diagnosis. * Educates patients and families by utilizing existing teaching materials, documenting appropriately. * Assists with referrals to other departments, scheduling visits as needed. * Calls patients to relay instructions, lab, x ray results, etc, as directed by the provider. * Documents in a descriptive and complete manner. * Notifies the provider appropriately when there is a change in patient condition. * Remains current on policies and procedures, follows and promotes others to follow policy and procedures. Notifies the nurse supervisor when policies or procedures need to be added or updated. * Consistently performs nursing skills accurately. * Plans patient care with organization. * Appropriately uses forms i.e. Developmental Screening forms, Epic Downtime forms. Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) DEPARTMENT: Cherokee Regional Clinics (Primghar) REPORTS TO: CEO, Clinic Director JOB SUMMARY: The Nurse Practitioner (NP) works as a licensed, independent clinician providing a wide range of high quality healthcare services to patients across the lifespan. The NP manages patients with acute, episodic, and chronic illnesses as well as provides health promotion and disease prevention education. NP practice includes, but is not limited to assessment; ordering, performing, supervising and interpreting diagnostic and laboratory tests; making diagnoses; initiating and managing treatment, including prescribing medication and non-pharmacologic treatments; coordinating care; counseling; and educating patients and their families.
