Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Cleans, dusts, and disinfects restrooms including floors, stalls, toilets, urinals, and fixtures. Removes trash and waste. Cleans trash receptacles and replaces liners. Replenishes soap and towel dispensers. * Cleans public entry and use areas including, but not limited to hallways, stairways, and meeting rooms. Cleans and disinfects drinking fountains, door handles, and door push plates. * Sweeps and mops hard floors and baseboards, spot cleaning as necessary and wet mopping on a regularly scheduled basis. Vacuums and spot cleans carpeted areas. * Performs regularly scheduled cleaning of classroom, laboratory, and office areas including, but not limited to furniture, fixtures, and boards. * Maintains safe and clean walkway and grounds surrounding the assigned area. Picks up litter. Empties and cleans outdoor trash. * Rearranges, moves, and sets furniture and equipment in place, according to established instructions and seating arrangements. Participates with others to assemble furniture, removing from and properly disposing of packaging materials. * Sets up and takes down seating and equipment for various events, including theater and gymnasium use. Sets up special equipment such as barriers, benches, bleachers, floor mats, and other equipment. * Participates in major cleaning projects that include, but are not limited to, carpet cleaning and floor stripping and refinishing. * Secures internal and external entry and exit doors, ensuring that windows and lights are locked and off. * Communicates the need for work order requests for maintenance services to the Head Custodian or other designated resource. Documents work activities and unanticipated occurrences. * Checks and records emergency eye wash and shower stations, fire extinguishers, first aid kits, emergency telephones for proper functioning or stock. * Inspects equipment used on a regular basis for function and required servicing. Makes minor repairs and arranges for complex repairs. * May perform routine minor servicing and maintenance to fixtures such as, but not limited to minor plumbing adjustments, oiling of door hinges and wall panel glide tracks, tightening of loose fixtures, repair of electrical cords, repair or replacement of dispensers, and minor carpet repairs. * Maintains a safe working environment in the assigned area(s), notifying the appropriate resources of safety hazards observed and/or takes action to mitigate or eliminate potential hazardous conditions. * Ensures that secondary containers for cleaning and other products are properly labeled. Follows Safety Data Sheet (SDS) instructions for handling and disposal of custodial products. * Maintains current knowledge of proper safety precautions and proper use of cleaning materials and chemicals in use in laboratory areas. * May provide basic orientation on work methods, equipment operation, and time saving techniques to new custodians. * Communicates the need for supplies and replacement components as needed. * Performs other duties as assigned that support the objectives of the position Qualifications: * Knowledge and Skills: * The position requires thorough knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and equipment used in custodial care and routine facilities maintenance. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Ensures school site cafeterias are properly staffed on a daily basis, including the scheduling and site assignments of substitute staff, and/or temporarily assigning permanent staff to other sites, when necessary. * Tracking of staff absences, change of assignments, extra hours, and use of substitute staff within the cafeterias and nutrition services office using spreadsheets and district absence tracking software. * Provides technical assistance to cafeteria managers, cook bakers, and cafeteria general helpers in regards to standard operating policies and procedures. * Trains staff on preparation, presentation, serving, monitoring, and sale of food in accordance with established guidelines and regulations. * Trains staff on ordering, receiving, and storage of food, equipment, and supplies. * Monitors, reviews, and makes recommendations relating to controlling food and labor costs for cafeterias, including training cafeteria managers on how to properly estimate food quantities, supplies, and other resources needed for efficient food service operations. * Instructs site personnel on proper method of maintaining records and preparing reports including, but not limited to, inventories, meal counts, sales, menu production records, and special diet accommodations. * Assists with on-site compliance reviews of federal nutrition services programs and alerts Director of Nutrition Services to ensure site operations are within established guidelines. * Routinely visits school site kitchens to ensure safety, sanitation measures and compliance of program regulations are followed. * Assists in the planning and implementation of new nutrition services programs, including, but not limited to, breakfast, breakfast after the bell, lunch, snack, supper, and change of service due to disasters or pandemics. * Plans and conducts in-service training sessions for nutrition services employees as directed by the Director of Nutrition Services. Assists in annual professional development training. * Creates and updates standardized recipes, utilizing USDA Foods. * Evaluates new food items from suppliers and assists in conducting student taste tests. * Assists Director of Nutrition Services in the purchasing and evaluation of cafeteria equipment and supplies. * Assists in preparation of Nutrition Services Department Training Procedures Manual and Standard Operating Procedure documents. * Attends conferences and managers' meetings, as needed. * Maintains records and reports as required. * Performs other related duties that support the overall objective of the position. Assists in development, and serves as a team leader for implementation of activities and materials to enhance student learning experiences. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Coordinates daily operations of dedicated space at one or more school sites used for after school programs. Organizes the assignments of ELO-P/ACES Program Leaders and provides assistance to support play-oriented learning and assure student safety. * Responsible for student safety, attendance reporting, and parent support. * Support Academic Programming; intervention, enrichment, and tutoring. * Maintains school site grant documentation. * Maintains school site inventory and ordering. * Plans and implements various programs, activities, and learning opportunities. Organizes games, activities, and learning exercises which supports the curriculum. * Meets with ELO-P/ACES Program Leaders, Mentors, Coordinators and/or Director to identify and set up goals, determine instructional assistance needs, and establish a basis for coaching. May meet with teachers to assist with developing learning plans. * May work on an in-depth basis with small peer groups and/or individual students on special subjects, exercises, and activities which support the curriculum. * Organizes play and exploration activities which support the curriculum. Observes and participates in games, play, and individualized activity to assure student safety. * May accompany students on district-sponsored field trips. * Coordinates age-grade appropriate instructional aids and exercises to support the curriculum Applies alternative lessons and learning strategies for maximizing learning experiences. * May assist Extended Learning Mentors, teachers, and ELO-P/ACES Program Leaders with preparation and presentation of subject matter in small group learning environments. * Meets with teachers, academic coaches, assistant principals, etc., to learn and coordinate individual and group educational goals and objectives. Assists with implementation of special activities. * Assists in training and provides input to ELO-P/ACES Program Leaders and other instructional assistants to administer learning exercises, tutor in selected subjects, and record attendance and achievement. * Monitors learning center activities when an ELO-P/Program Leader is absent from the environment. * Observes, monitors, and controls the behavior of students within approved procedures. * Applies positive reinforcement with students. * Uses appropriate discipline in accordance with grade level requirements and scope of authority. * May report student academic, behavior progress and performance to teachers. * Provides feedback to ELO-P/ACES Program Leaders and other school personnel concerning programs, activities and materials to meet student needs and interests. Alerts ELO-P/ACES Program Leaders to any special problems or information concerning students. * Maintains appropriate records, tracks staff attendance, reviews time sheets, and completes various reports required for program compliance and to communicate educational outcomes. * Makes recommendations for, and may assist in conducting in-services in conflict resolution, discipline, and positive reinforcement techniques for children. * May provide clerical and logistics assistance to coordinators such as organizing transportation, arranging for recreational gear, etc. * Attends meetings and trainings required by the district. * Performs other related duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position. Qualifications: * Knowledge and Skills: * The position requires working practices of reinforcing age appropriate child development and guidance applicable for an educational setting. Requires basic knowledge of positive reinforcement and discipline techniques. Requires basic knowledge of the subjects taught in the schools served by the district, including science, math, writing, grammar, spelling, language and reading, sufficiently to assist students with individual or group studies. Requires a basic knowledge of methods for effective tutoring and instruction assistance. Requires knowledge of basic clerical and student record keeping processes. Requires knowledge of and skill at using personal computers, audiovisual, and other equipment to support learning, record information, and send communications.
