The Street Maintenance Technician is responsible for roadway maintenance/construction and street cleaning utilizing assorted light to medium equipment and machinery. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: EDUCATION: A high school diploma or GED is required. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one (1) year of experience performing manual and semiskilled equipment operation work in construction, street maintenance, or other closely related environment is preferred. Employee is expected to have acquired the necessary information and skills to perform the job reasonably well within six (6) months of employment. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: This employee must possess or be able to obtain a valid Kansas Class B Commercial Driver's License (C.D.L.) with air brake endorsement within ninety (90) days of appointment. This employee must also acquire a KDOT Flagger certification within one (1) year of appointment. RESIDENTIAL REQUIREMENT: Applicants must live within 25 minutes of the City of Hutchinson Public Works facility and be able to report to the facility within 30 minutes for after-hours emergency calls. What You Will Do Work with a team to clean and maintain paint booths at one of our client facilities. Change filters, change or clean flooring, and other cleaning of the booths. Weare full PPE, including a Tyvek suit, rubber boots, gloves, and a respirator. Must be willing to remain clean shaven (if applicable) at all times along the jawline for the use of a respirator What You Need to Be Successful We provide all training for this position! No experience required. We need you to come to work willing to learn and with a focus on safety. You need to be able to work with other people and be able to work 3 rd shift, including part of the weekend. You must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment.
