Summary:
The Telemetry Registered Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care in a telemetry unit, focusing on continuous cardiac monitoring and assessment. This role encompasses evaluating patient health, implementing specialized care plans, administering treatments, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care for individuals with cardiac conditions. Essential Work Functions:
Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and other telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately
Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, with a focus on cardiac care
Prepares equipment and aids physician during cardiac-related procedures and examinations
Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients
Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient's cardiac status and response to interventions
Responds to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols specific to cardiac emergencies
Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients
Initiates patient education plans according to individualized needs, focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications
Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients
Maintains confidentiality of patients and client

Position Summary:
An AHD is an elevated leadership position within Residence Life that serves as a peer leader to the RAs and lives and works in the VCSU Residence Halls. AHDs will report directly to their assigned Hall Director and help to support the halls in which those Hall Director's supervise. AHDs are expected to help build a strong sense of community among the RAs while helping them enforce the policies set forth in the VCSU Student Handbook and the VCSU Residence Hall Handbook. Typical AHD responsibilities include serving in a professional staff on-call rotation, communicating with RAs, assisting their assigned Hall Director with the planning for routine RA responsibilities, and supporting Residence Life programming. Common duties for both AHD positions include:
* Staff Support
AHDs will attend weekly professional staff meetings, weekly building staff meetings, monthly all staff meetings, and a minimum of one program for each RA each semester. This position will also assist with the RA selection process from recruitment to selection and training.
* Availability & Presence
AHDs should be highly visible and available to their RAs. A good rule of thumb is to not be gone more than two weekends a month. All days away must be communicated to Hall Directors. While on campus, AHDs should strive to be approachable, empathetic, and fair so that all RAs feel comfortable seeking them out for questions and guidance. AHDs should make an effort to regularly visit and reach out to RAs.
* Peer Leadership and Mentoring
AHDs should be knowledgeable about VCSU and Valley City resources and refer RAs to these as necessary. AHDs should role model appropriate behavior in the Residence Halls by abiding by all Residence Life and Student Conduct policies and state and federal laws.
* Programming
One AHD will be the Team Lead for the Fall Homecoming Talent Show. The other AHD will be the Team Lead for the Spring Res. Life Carnival.
* Facilities Maintenance
AHDs should encourage RAs to develop a sense of ownership for their community, building, and all residence halls. They will assist RAs with reporting facilities concerns and regularly visit any community spaces in their community (lounges, laundry, bathrooms, etc.) AHDs are expected to develop positive working relationships with Facilities Services employees.
* Accessibility of Digital Information
Procure, create and edit digital content according to NDUS and VCSU digital accessibility standards and policies.
* Policy Enforcement and Liability Management
AHDs will help RAs in confronting and documenting any behaviors that violate the Residence Hall Handbook, Student Code of Conduct, or State/Federal Laws when the RA is not comfortable handling these scenarios independently. 24/7 support is available through the Director for Residence Life, Dean for Student Affairs, Power House and, Valley City Emergency Services.
* Duty Expectations
AHDs should plan on being on-duty one to two weeks per month (depending on the rotation schedule). When on-duty, AHDs will carry the professional staff duty phone 24/7 Monday-Sunday. All calls will be answered and emergencies immediately reported to the appropriate resources. AHDs will be responsible for making sure an RA from each building calls to clock-in each night between 8:45-9:15pm and follow up with any buildings that miss this deadline to make sure on-call responsibilities are being covered in the hall. While on-duty, AHDs must stay within a 30 minute radius of campus during daytime hours (7:00am-9:00pm) and within a 15 minute radius of campus during evening hours (9:00pm-7:00am)
* Time Obligations
An AHD works around 15-20 hours per week. AHDs should only work on-campus jobs, and any second jobs may not conflict with the AHD job or exceed 15 hours per week. AHDs working off-campus jobs must obtain permission in writing. AHDs will arrive approximately two and a half weeks before classes begin in the fall (a half week before RAs arrive) and a few days before classes begin in the spring (one day before the RAs arrive) for training and to prep the halls to open. AHDs will also stay for a day or two after graduation in each semester to help with hall closing. AHDs are asked to contribute to a more limited staffing of the halls over holidays and breaks. Weekly professional staff meetings, weekly residence hall meetings, bi-weekly one-on-ones, and monthly all staff meetings can also be expected.

Valley City State University is searching for a Graduate Assistant within their Men's and Women's Track & Field program. Responsibilities include developing, directing, and advancing competitive programs. This position will help identify, recruit, and select quality student-athletes; assist in the organization and planning of practice and competitive strategies in their specialty; oversee athletes' skill and physical development; monitor student-athletes' academic progress, performance, and retention, lead and motivate student-athletes to maximize their potential; assist with administrative duties; enforce team rules; demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and commitment to compliance with Valley City State University, NSAA conference/NAIA national policies, rules, and regulations. This position will participate in program and departmental fundraising, public relations, and promotional efforts; participate/coach/teach in program camps/clinics for the track & field/cross country programs; and work effectively with department support services personnel to enhance the welfare and personal, social, academic, and athletic development of student-athletes.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree by the start date, experience coaching or competing in cross country and/or track & field, and acceptance into the VCSU Graduate program by the upcoming academic year are required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience coaching and competing at the collegiate level in cross country/track & field, training experience necessary to compete at the NAIA level, highly motivated with an outstanding work ethic, strong organizational skills, exceptional verbal and written communication skills, proficient with Microsoft Office programs, a valid driver's license, ability to recruit and communicate with highly talented student-athletes, and knowledge of NSAA conference and NAIA national policies, rules, and regulations are preferred.
Salary/Benefits
$3000 per semester, tuition waiver, free housing and a meal stipend. This contract will run from January 1, 2026, until May 29, 2026.
