Oversees and directs the activities of yard personnel in order to ensure good customer service and safe and efficient movement of goods and equipment on the premises. What You'll Do: Directs workers in loading, unloading and movement of materials on the premises utilizing material handling equipment and machinery; oversees receiving of yard materials and instructs yard workers in receiving and storage procedures. Inspects loading operations for outgoing delivery to ensure compliance with shipping specifications, load limits and safety regulations; prepares and reconciles bills of lading and packing slips. Ensure product is stocked in appropriate location in accordance with food safety and FIFO processes & procedures. Oversee will call. * Maintain physical condition and safety of warehouse and equipment, including preparing work orders for repairs and requisitions for equipment. * Work with operations management team to identify sources of inventory shrink and assist in development of an action plan. Analyze the current operations and make recommendations to improve on expense and cost control. * Regularly inspect facility for safety hazards and either resolve them or report them to the safety manager as appropriate. Sorts and stocks merchandise onto proper shelves, bins, or pegs. Assists customers, receives payment, stocks material and assists in all areas of Retail business as needed. What You'll Do: Greets customers and receives payment; issues receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers; package customer purchases; thanks customers for their business. Acknowledges incoming customers in a pleasant manner and provides product information, location, and general store knowledge. Directs customer to product pick-up point, if necessary. Places merchandise in bins, on floor, or on shelves, according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material. Places product overstock in proper location in stockroom. Checks shelves and pegs for low or out-of-stocks and re-fills from stockroom. Reports stock damage or spoilage. Ensures that bin tags are properly placed on shelves. Ensures merchandise is correctly priced. Attaches promotional and sale signage to proper merchandise. Assists in unpacking and checking in merchandise. Assists in setting up or re-organizing product displays. Answers basic customer questions while on floor. May assist in transporting customer purchases to vehicle. May perform related clerical duties, such as preparation of transfer slips, control of pick cards, and maintaining records. Participates in periodic, special, and annual inventory counts. Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures. Serves as the professional point of contact for specialty product customers by working with clients to coordinate and create design projects including Kitchen and Bath, Millwork, etc., renovations and remodels by evaluating scope of projects, integrating information into design layout and resolving issues.
