PURPOSE Assigns motor vehicles and drivers for conveyance of building materials by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Compiles list of available vehicles. Assigns vehicles according to factors such as length and purpose of trip, freight or passenger requirements, and preference of user.
Assigns orders to lift operators to be pulled from inventory.
Issues keys, record sheets, and credentials to drivers.
Records time of departure, destination, cargo, and expected time of return.
Investigates overdue vehicles.
Directs activities of drivers by two-way radio.
Confers with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged merchandise.
Maintains record of mileage, fuel used, repairs made, and other expenses.
Establishes service or delivery routes.
Assigns helpers to drivers.
Other duties as assigned

WORKING SCHEDULE: 12 hours rotating A-B-C-D Shifts
The Emergency Response Team serves as a team member to carry out fire suppression and technical rescue, medical emergency response, fire prevention and hazardous material emergency response activities. The Emergency Response Team also performs various maintenance activities on fire equipment and fire station facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responds to emergency and non-emergency situations including fires, medical injuries and illness; hazardous materials spills; technical rescues such as river, trench, rope rescues, confined space auto, extrication; false alarms; flooding; and other situations, and carries out specific assigned duties such as connecting hoses, operating equipment, emergency vehicle driving and operation, positioning ladders, rescuing victims, and providing basic life support care as allowed as an EMT.
Fire Suppression: Extinguishing fires, using specialized equipment and techniques for industrial settings.
Emergency Response: Responding to various emergencies, including hazardous material spills and other incidents.
Hazard Mitigation: Identifying and mitigating potential hazards to prevent incidents.
Rescue Operations: Conducting rescue operations for personnel trapped or injured in emergencies.
Safety Training: Educating employees on fire safety procedures and emergency protocols.

Physical and Mental Demands:

There is fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, listening, hearing/listening, seeing/observing, occasional lifting, pushing or pulling of up to 100 pounds, frequent lifting, pushing or pulling of up to 50 pounds and regular moving of objects up to 20 pounds. WORKING ENVIRONMENT
There is regular exposure to very disagreeable working conditions such as fumes, fire, smoke, extreme weather conditions including ice, snow, extreme high and low temperatures, humidity, rain, dirt, mud. The work involves exposure to hazardous conditions such as toxic chemicals, slippery conditions, working in traffic areas and adverse road conditions. ABOUT THE POSITION
Field Service Coordinators/Managers function as part of the Service Administration team and are responsible for facilitating field service activities.
In this role, you will:
Assign and Dispatch Field Service Technicians to various customer locations for equipment repair and maintenance.
Manage Assigned Field Service Technicians daily activities, including reviewing and coding timecards, tracking job statuses, and recording response times.
Perform Service Data Entry, ensuring all details are input into the correct systems with accuracy.

Role Overview: The Public Safety Dispatcher performs multiple functions in the Communications Center in support of various department personnel at the University Park Campus, Health Sciences Campus, and University Parking Center. Receives calls for service from faculty, staff, students and guests, and dispatches the appropriate department personnel via radio communications equipment. Serves as a vital link between the service community, Public Safety personnel, and all other emergency and nonemergency services available at the university and in the surrounding community. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, listening skills and the ability to make instantaneous decisions based on minimal information. In addition, skilled in controlling emotions and ability to work under pressure. Step into a role where your duties will include but are not limited to:
Receives emergency calls requesting police, fire, and rescue assistance.
Determines appropriate response in accordance with established procedures and assessment of the situation. Dispatches Public Safety units in response to calls for service.
Maintains a record of all calls and radio messages. Monitors status of public safety, parking transportation, campus cruiser, residential protection, assets protection, and other special duty units. Prepares appropriate management reports of calls.
Receives calls and complaints regarding service and assistance and refers them to the appropriate unit. Operates telephone switching equipment.
Requests back-up or follow-up assistance from the Los Angeles Police Department, Los Angeles Fire Department, and other agencies.
Operates Computer Aided Dispatch system and maintains manual and automated records systems. Conducts information searches as needed.
Please note: Shifts include holidays, weekends, and overtime; must have availability to work certain special events and emergencies.

Hourly Range
The hourly rate for this position is $28.31.
