The Field Service Technician is primarily responsible for scheduled and remedial (break-fix) service on Small to Medium UPS, Power Distribution Units & Battery system products (2-120KVA) serviced by Vertiv, commensurate with appropriate classroom and on-the-job training. The Field Service Technician is required to establish, promote and maintain excellent rapport with all customers, co-workers, sales representatives and others as appropriate. The Field Service Technician is primarily responsible to support products and services sold to our “Edge” market segment, including retail, financial, and municipal customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
ROLE
Perform service tasks as assigned and as per company policies and procedures
Capable of working under direct supervision or independently based upon training completion
Render on-site and phone assistance to customers
Communicate with Technical Support on technical or procedural issues
Implement Field Change Notices per published guidelines
Keep current on Safety Bulletins, Safety Field Change Notices, Field Change Notices, and Service Tips
SAFETY
Operate in a safe manner in accordance with published safety guidelines
Maintain and operate company vehicle in accordance with local laws and company policy
Must wear appropriate PPE as per company guidelines and accordance with job duties
Adhere to work hours policy guidelines - “14 hours rule”
Report all work related accidents or injuries within 24 hours to the appropriate personnel.
ADMINISTRATION
Complete accurate and timely administrative tasks (i.e. Time cards, expense report, mileage reports, Service Request task closure, service reports) per company guidelines
Maintain individual inventory and perform cycle counts in accordance with company policy
Maintain company property (company vehicle, credit cards, PPE, test equipment, laptop, etc.) per company policies
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
Provide proper and adequate communication to internal and external customers
Provide estimated time of arrival to the customer where applicable
Complete scheduled maintenance documentation properly and provide to the customer and local office upon completion of each assignment
Strive to provide all customers a “first time fix” for their equipment
Maintain customer satisfaction rates per company guidelines
Attend Customer Meetings as required

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience (one or more of the following)
ASEET or AMEET, or progress towards, is preferred
High School or Vocational School Diploma
2-4 years military experience in a related technical field
0-2 years of relevant industry experience
Interpersonal and Administrative Skills
Communicate professionally and respectfully in both written and verbal forms
Manage time effectively by prioritizing and balancing technical tasks with administrative tasks
Collaborative with peers, customers, suppliers, and leadership
Complete administrative tasks (i.e. report writing, time entry, expense reporting, material debriefing, inventory counting, etc.) in a timely fashion
Technical skills
Make basic site evaluation skills to include: environmental temperature, and general operating conditions
Familiarity with electrical / electronic test equipment and fundamentals
Follow written technical documentation (i.e. procedures and product manuals) to perform service tasks
Employ elementary fix/repair techniques based on directed supervision
Complete service tasks and return unit to full operating conditions based upon directed supervision
Summarize and report all work related tasks performed in written and verbal form
Efficient with a personal computer and associated applications (Microsoft Office, Vertiv software, etc.)

The Electrical Field Test Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient installation and testing of electrical power distribution equipment for customers in the assigned territory. Troubleshoot automatic transfer switches.

Maintain, test, and repair transformers and related equipment.
Test and calibrate solid-state and electromechanical relays.
Perform relay calibration and power metering.
Conduct low and medium-voltage motor control center and contractor testing.
Start-up, troubleshoot, and repair generator controls and transfer schemes.
Test and commission protection and control systems on high voltage substations.
Sample and interpret insulated fluids.
Complete Job Hazard Analyses including but not limited to arc-flash and shock analyses
Review and submit timecards, expense, and project reports.
Document test results and complete field reports.
Rotate emergency on-call duty.
Maintain strict compliance with regulatory laws
Assist in the sales process acting as the technical expert in electrical testing and maintenance of electrical equipment
Qualifications
Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in electrical testing.

What you will do:
Service Technicians diagnose problems and perform service and repairs on card access, CCTV, burglar alarm systems, electronic fire alarm systems and other related building system products at customer sites. What we look for:
Required
1-3 years documented experience with card access, CCTV, burglar alarm and Fire.
Knowledge of test equipment, multi-meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
Experience installing, inspecting, repairing, and programming card access and CCTV.
Fire alarm experience is a plus.
Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.

What We're Looking For
Minimum Requirements:
5+ years of experience in electrical testing and power system services
Current NETA Level III or IV, or NICET equivalent certification
Proven experience leading and mentoring technicians in the field
Ability to manage multi-month, medium to large-scale projects
Familiarity with NETA ATS/MTS Standards and NFPA70E
Proficient in lockout/tagout and hazardous energy control procedures
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Clean driving record and ability to travel nationally (up to 90%)
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree or higher in Power Systems or related field

Key Responsibilities:
Plumbing: Diagnose and repair plumbing issues, including leaks, clogged drains, and malfunctioning fixtures. Install and maintain plumbing systems in residential properties. Cut, assemble, and install pipes and tubes with attention to existing infrastructure (e.g., electrical wiring). Attend training meetings and continue professional development.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues: Work with the lead installer to complete projects from start to finish paying close attention to details. Educate customers on the use of the new systems.
Customer interaction: Deliver excellent customer service by addressing client concerns professionally and courteously. Address client concerns and explain solutions clearly and professionally. Present products and services to optimize the home's system. Present resources for financing and various ways to enhance customer experience with our company.
Safety and compliance: Follow all safety standards and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
Documentation: Keep accurate records of services performed and parts used. Document service performed and recommendations made by completing applicable forms, reports, logs, and/or records.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Plumbing Service Technician or similar role.
Licenses: Valid driver's license. Valid plumbing license or certification as required by state regulations.
Skills: Strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills. Use a variety of plumbing tools and equipment (pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, plungers etc.)
Physical Requirements: Ability to work in various conditions, including confined spaces and at heights; physical stamina and dexterity. Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-75lbs. Frequently ascend/descend ladder and maintain balance.
