We are seeking a reliable and responsible CDL AND MOFFETT TRUCK DRIVER to join our team in our Little Silver branch location. As a CDL AND MOFFETT TRUCK DRIVER, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and the timely delivery of lumber and building material and product.
CDL AND MOFFETT TRUCK DRIVER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Truck Driver is primarily responsible for safely driving a commercial vehicle in compliance with safety and DOT regulations.
Truck Driver will load/unload lumber and materials required by customers at the job site, ensuring no damage to material. Assist customer with the placement of material at the job site.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
Detect, eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspection of assigned vehicle and report any discrepancy to the dispatcher immediately.
Maintain accurate vehicle records and logs
Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
Truck Driver will check load and ensure it is properly secured before leaving the yard.
Truck Driver will check load to ensure correct material and amount of material is being delivered.
Drive within the laws and rules of the state.
Other duties as requested directed or assigned.
Requirements
CDL TRUCK DRIVER QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid NJ CDL license with proper endorsements.
Ability to meet all USDOT physical regulations.
Clean Driving record.
Moffett truck operating experience.
At least one year of driving experience preferred.
Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures.
Ability to read maps and navigate to job sites in a timely manner.
Previous lumber or building supplies experience strongly desired.
High school diploma or GED preferred.

The position regularly requires standing, walking, sitting, talking and hearing. It frequently requires the use of hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with the hands and arms throughout the day.
Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds.

Position Overview
The Dump Truck Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely operation of company-owned dump trucks to transport soil, aggregates, demolition debris, asphalt, and other construction materials to and from excavation sites, disposal facilities, and supplier locations.
This role is a key support position within the Excavation Division, ensuring materials are moved as needed to maintain production schedules and site safety.
This position will work out of our South Plainfield, NJ office.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Operate single-axle, tri-axle, or tractor-trailer dump trucks to haul and deliver excavation-related materials.
Safely load, transport, and unload soil, stone, sand, gravel, asphalt, and debris.
Perform pre-trip, en- route, and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers in compliance with DOT and company safety standards.
Maintain accurate driver logs, delivery tickets, and load counts; submit paperwork daily.
Communicate with dispatcher & EPE General manager for daily tasks
Follow all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety protocols at all times.
Conduct routine truck maintenance checks (oil, fuel, tires, lights, hydraulic systems) and report any defects or required repairs.
Ensure proper covering/tarping of loads to meet safety and environmental requirements.
Assist excavation and site crews when not driving (spotting, staging materials, site cleanup).
Uphold company values of professionalism, safety, and efficiency on all job sites.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B, with clean driving record.
Minimum 2 years of dump truck driving experience in excavation, construction, or related industry preferred.
Knowledge of DOT regulations, load securement, and local/state hauling laws.
Ability to operate manual transmissions and air brake systems.
Physical ability to climb into/out of truck cabs, lift up to 50 lbs., and work outdoors in varying conditions.
