About the Indiana Law Enforcement Training Board: The Indiana Law Enforcement Training Board is the governing body of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, located in Plainfield, Indiana. The Board is comprised of 17 members, who have been appointed by the governor. The board sets the requirements and criteria for the basic training of law enforcement officers throughout the State of Indiana, which became mandatory in 1972. Role Overview: Incumbent serves as a Building Custodian Supervisor within the Housekeeping Department of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA). The incumbent is considered a "working" supervisor and is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the work of the custodial staff. Incumbent ensures that the academy buildings and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary manner. The incumbent reports to the Director of Support Services. Salary Statement: The salary for this position traditionally starts at $37,648.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience. Minimum Qualifications: * High School Diploma or High School Equivalent (HSE) * Experience as a Building Custodian * A minimum of three (3) years custodian or housekeeping experience preferred * A minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience * Must have a valid Indiana driver's license A Day in the Life: The essential functions of this role are as follows: * Manage custodial department to ensure effective and efficient cleaning methods are followed * Supervise custodial staff ensuring compliance with agency and State policies and procedures * Assign tasks to custodial staff to facilitate workflow according to Academy schedule * Perform administrative and payroll functions * Clean by dusting, mopping, washing, vacuuming, polishing, disinfecting or scrubbing all surfaces of furniture, furnishings, floors, walls and any other surfaces * Maintain inventory and restock supplies where necessary * Clean and maintain, wax and polish finishes on floors * Strip and wax floors, as required * Clean carpets, as required * Request and store cleaning supplies and materials and provide routine maintenance on cleaning tools and equipment * Store cleaning equipment and supplies in a safe and orderly manner * Clear and clean waste container and dispose of refuse and recyclables * Move furniture and equipment as request by housekeeping supervisor * Report any repairs needed to facilities maintenance * Provide support to and work with other team members * Other duties as assigned The job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee. Assist in event set up and tear down. + Spot clean facility/fitness equipment as needed and put away any equipment left out by guests. + Perform scheduled room checks and counts. + Attend staff meetings, and maintain professionalism at all times, either while assisting members or attending to other work tasks. + Will provide backup to facility access staff when necessary. Individuals will also provide coverage when needed for special events that go beyond normal operation hours. Facility Attendants must be a student at Penn State University and possess the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with excellent interpersonal skills. Individuals will also provide coverage when needed for special events that go beyond normal operation hours. Facility Attendants must be a student at Penn State University and possess the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with excellent interpersonal skills. Use members names as often as possible. * Set an example of professional behavior and exceptional customer service for all team members. * Embrace and follow the company Service Standards, the guidelines outlined in the AFF Training and Policy Manuals, and any applicable department-specific team handbooks. * Respond to member concerns and/or comments in a timely and professional way. * Know the clubs emergency response protocol and be prepared to act. Exercise sound judgment with safety as a priority. * Arrive to work 10 minutes early and in department-specific uniform. * Be a team player by contributing to both club and organizational goals. * Participate actively in all club, department, and company meetings. Inform the team and club members of developments, promotions, activities, and upcoming events within the club and throughout the organization. * Communicate effectively with all team members. * Attend regularly scheduled department meetings for ongoing training and information sharing. * Use proper chain of command. As a Housekeeping Attendant, additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Record necessary repairs of equipment and/or noticeable repairs needed in club Maintenance Log. * Report low inventory levels of products and supplies. * Report any and all accidents and/or incidents to GM or AGM immediately while completing proper paperwork. * Conduct a walk through with Housekeeping Manager at the end of each shift to confirm completion of duties. * Other duties as reasonably assigned.
