The Opportunity
We are seeking an entrepreneurial Director of Customer Success to lead and architect our Customer Success organization. This is a critical leadership role that requires a blend of strategic platform expertise, operational rigor, content creation prowess, and cross-functional leadership. You will be responsible for defining the customer journey, leveraging technology to drive proactive engagement, and ultimately, meaningfully improving customer adoption and retention for our flagship products.
How You'll Contribute at Buildout
Designing & Optimizing Operations
Leveraging our CS platform, Planhat, design and build automated triggers and playbooks based on activity (e.g. usage data, NPS scores, customer sentiment) to identify early warning signs, drive adoption, improve retention, and surface opportunities for cross-sell
Manage CS Operations Specialist to ensure technical build-out, data integrity, reporting, and maintenance within the CS platform are executed flawlessly
Collaborate with cross-functional leaders (Account Management, Billing, Implementation, Support) to solidify "swim lanes" and rules of engagement to ensure a unified customer communication experience with seamless hand-offs that feel like magic to the customer
Proactive Engagement & Product Enablement
Lead the strategy and support the creation of proactive, educational content (e.g., webinars, training videos, LMS courses)
Manage Customer Success Manager(s), whose responsibilities focus on getting on the phone with customers to train, answer questions, and enable them to integrate the product seamlessly into their day-to-day
Team Performance & Reporting
Own critical company retention KPIs and drive lead generation for our sales and account management organizations
Define, track, and report on key metrics and outcomes, producing senior leadership visibility into the success of our efforts
Develop the KPIs and quarterly goals for your team, aligning initiatives with company goals, prioritizing and clearly articulating what will be deferred or deprioritized, and ensure resources are always aimed at the highest value work
Recruit, coach, and performance manage a growing Customer Success team, including a Customer Success Operations Specialist and customer-facing Customer Success Manager(s), ensuring the team is highly skilled and effective

What You'll Bring to Buildout
3+ years of experience in post-sale, customer-facing roles
2+ years of experience managing CSMs or similar post-sale customer-facing roles
Experience designing and building triggers and playbooks in a customer success platform such as Planhat, Gainsight, ChurnZero
Proven ability to drive results, with a track record of hitting retention and cross-sell referral targets

The Opportunity
We're hiring a Data Migration Specialist who will be the go‑to data expert to turn a customer's complex export into clean and usable data in Buildout. You'll partner with customers at pivotal moments across the customer journey-from pre‑sales scoping calls, to onboarding implementations, to the occasional post‑launch data request-ensuring customers start strong and stay successful. Your work translates messy spreadsheets into meaningful records, shortens time‑to‑value, unblocks implementations, and prevents churn.
This role is a unique blend of customer consultation and technical execution. You'll spend time working directly with customers to guide them through their data journey, while also independently performing the data migrations that ensure their success.
How You'll Contribute
You will play an active role in your customers' onboarding journey by attending kick-off calls and ongoing check-ins, acting as the SME on data quality, and collaborating with internal teams to set customers up for success
You will facilitate the movement of Customer data from their own home-grown spreadsheets and other CRMs/systems into Buildout
Clean-up and manipulate customer data so it is ready for import
Schedule calls with customers as needed to review and clarify data

We are seeking a highly technical, hands-on Data Migration Consultant to support critical phases of our Workday implementation. This role is pivotal in ensuring data integrity as we bridge the gap between our legacy Infor Lawson system and Workday HCM & Payroll.
The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of Lawson data structures and the technical expertise to write complex SQL scripts that capture delta changes for Workday EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder) consumption.
Key Responsibilities
Write, maintain, and execute SQL scripts to identify and extract HCM and Payroll data changes (deltas) between specific cutoff dates in Infor Lawson
Produce clean, accurately formatted CSV files that align with Workday EIB requirements.
Analyze Infor Lawson data related to employee life cycle, job architecture, compensation, benefits, and payroll to ensure logic consistency.
Partner with functional leads and technical teams to confirm cutoff logic, validate data accuracy, and ensure successful hand-offs for Workday loading.
Actively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data discrepancies or logic gaps during the catch-up testing phases.
Qualifications & Skills
Advanced SQL skills are a must. You should be comfortable navigating complex legacy databases to perform precise data extractions.
Direct experience with Infor Lawson (HCM & Payroll modules) is required. You must understand how Lawson data maps to modern SaaS environments.
A solid understanding of Workday EIBs and general data expectations (templates, required fields, and formatting) is essential.
Functional understanding of HR and Payroll business processes (e.g., how a mid-period compensation change affects payroll data).
Proven ability to work independently, manage tight "catch-up" deadlines, and maintain extreme attention to detail.

The Opportunity

Technical Skills You'll Need to Succeed
We are looking for a full-stack engineer. However, “full-stack” can mean a lot these days, so here is what we're looking for specifically:
Ruby/Rails: We're a Ruby shop here at Buildout, so a deep knowledge of Rails is going to help you get up and running quickly. Our app uses all of the standard Rails goodness you know and love, as well as a lot of additional tools for design, business logic, and background jobs. If you like to learn new skills, you're going to fit in really well.
Javascript: Our front-end relies heavily on Javascript. We currently have a mix of core features written using vanilla ES5 and React, but are focusing on ES6 and React for all future front-end work. We are looking for people with a strong working Javascript base who want to keep finding and working with the best new tools.
Testing: Is testing a natural part of your process? If so, you'll be appreciated here. We are actively building out our test suite and providing ample team resources to make sure that everything we create is tested and rock-solid. Our test suite uses RSpec for most of our Rails work.
Other Web Tech: We use git for source control, Slim for our view templates, lightly customized Bootstrap for our CSS, MySQL and AWS. If you're really passionate about some new technology, we'd love to hear about it.
