Paraco Gas bulk delivery driver job description

The Bulk Delivery Driver provides bulk propane deliveries to both residential and commercial customers. This position is responsible for providing outstanding customer service and adhering to industry safety standards.
Key responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

• Provide safe, punctual, consistent and reliable deliveries of bulk propane on a daily basis.
• Participate in and complete all required industry compliance and company training.
• Provide consistent courteous and efficient customer service.
• Perform necessary vehicle and trailer inspections as required.
• Ensure Daily Vehicle Inspection is performed.
• Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Desired skills and experience:

• A minimum of one-year Class B CDL experience preferably in delivery of bulk propane, fuel oil or other hazardous materials.
• A current valid CDL license which must contain valid Hazardous Materials (H) and Tank Vehicle (N) endorsements.
o An (X) combination endorsement may be substituted for an (H) and (N) endorsement.
o License may not contain any Air Brakes (L) or (Z) Restriction(s).
o Clean and safe driving record in full compliance with all DOT licensing requirements.
• A Safe driving record.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather and driving conditions.
• Mechanically inclined skills (preferred but not required):
o Experience with hand tools, power tools and test equipment.
o Basic troubleshooting, problem solving and diagnostic skills.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds at times throughout the day as well as bend, climb, reach, & rotate as needed. Also must be able to pull up to a 175 ft. delivery hose through various terrains and during changing weather conditions.
• Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills is essential.
• Must be a detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Currently available shift of 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM Monday to Friday with some Saturday / Sunday shifts as needed due to demand. (We seek drivers with shift flexibility occasional overtime and on-call assignments as needed).
• Availability during Holidays as per the Company Schedule.

  • HourHours - Start Time Varies (3:00 a.m. -6 a.m.) Must be Flexible!
  • Drivers Average Hours: 55
  • Rate of Pay - $24.22/ hr to start - $24.72 after 90 days
  • Route Coverage Area: GA, AL, TN, MS deliveries
  • Possibility out 2-3 days per week and per diem provided

What will I be doing?

As a Class A Driver operating our 53ft. Tanker Truck, you will responsible for delivering Aqua and Anhydrous Ammonia products to our customers in Concord, NC and the surrounding areas. Additionally, you will provide emergency response, routine maintenance, and minor repairs for ammonia systems

JOB SUMMARY:

The Class-A Driver position will deliver products to local customers on a scheduled route or intermittently. Records deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest and obtain signatures from customers for receipt purposes. Listens to and resolves service inquires and complaints. Engage in loading/unloading truck procedures. Performs pre and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting deficiencies, and ensures all safety items are in good working order. Maintains neat, clean, and professional personal appearance and maintains vehicle appearance in a professional manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Safely perform SOPs specifically related to the handling of Anhydrous Ammonia/Ammonium Hydroxide.
  • Communicate in person with customers regarding any SOPs.
  • Maintain load manifests and all other vehicle documents, ensuring they are correctly completed and balanced with truck counts and shipping documents before and after deliveries.
  • Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed.
  • Maintain appropriate driver's license/endorsements.
  • Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
  • Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is also required.
  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
  • Must have basic computer experience (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must meet all physical qualification standards imposed by regulation for drivers.
  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
  • Must be able to work overtime if necessary.
  • Some overnight stays may be required on a limited basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 25 years old
  • Class A CDL with at least 2 years' CMV experience - experience must be within the last 4 years, and tanker/hazmat endorsements are required before the hire date
  • Graduation from an accredited truck driving school with a diploma will count as 1 year of the required experience
  • No preventable accidents of any kind in the last 3 years
  • No more than 2 minor tickets in the previous 3 years
  • No serious violation ticket (speeding 15 , reckless driving, etc.) in the previous 3 years
  • No suspensions of CDL in the previous 3 years except for "Failure to pay child support."
  • No DUI in the last 7 years
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs or more
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of the Company.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
