Bulk plant operator job description

Maintain and operate grain processing equipment to ensure superior popcorn quality. Provide incoming raw product receiving and grading. Maintain documentation for quality and food safety. Supports continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, cost and customer service.

Comply with all rules, procedures, training, & GMP requirements; check equipment, tools, & supplies The employee will setup grain supply & distribution system using cables, startup the bulk plant equipment, tend & inspect the machinery, empty waste containers, & cleans/changes screens Perform housekeeping duties to keep the work area clean & neat Responsible for maintaining food safety and quality The employee will check metal collecting magnets & collect samples of grain & perform/document quality tests The employee may operate a grain transport to supply the plant with grain The employee may climb up to hoppers several times a shift & monitor grain levels

High school diploma or equivalent One to three years related experience pertaining to grain handling and associated equipment a plus Lift/carry and push/pull up to 55 pounds Ability to read and write English to comprehend complex instructions and carry them out to complete required QA documentation Ability to perform basic math (percentages, weight conversions, etc.)

AES Drilling Fluids is seeking a Bulk Plant Operator to join west Texas' largest Mud Plant facility in Kermit, TX. We offer a stable environment, an employee minded culture and healthy leadership. AES's Bulk Plant Operators anticipated annual salary is $82,000-87,000 ($23.25 + overtime and quarterly & year end bonuses).

This position is responsible for safely and timely unloading of bulk and liquid products from rail cars to storage vessels as well as loading products into trucks for delivery to customers. The Kermit facility operates 24 hours so overtime is required. This position works a 14/7 schedule, 12 hour shifts and rotates days and nights.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs the safe and timely unloading daily of bulk dry products and liquid products from rail cars to storage vessels within the facility.
• Operates or learns to operate all transloading equipment, performs work safely and productively.
• Loads bulk trucks from top loading silos and loads liquid bulk trucks from storage tanks.
• Performs general maintenance and upkeep on equipment and blowers.
• Responsible for maintaining safe and clean work environment by performing housekeeping and clean up on waste or spilled product complying with all Company procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Keeps accurate and orderly records of all products received and disbursed per company requirements.
• Contributes to team effort by maintaining ongoing communications with office, management, and fellow personnel.
• Performs all duties safely in accordance with Company procedures and applicable safety requirements.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by the Warehouse and/or Assistant Warehouse Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Forklift operator certification or ability to obtain same is preferred.
• Some experience unloading rail cars with bulk dry material or liquid products is preferred but not required.
• Ability to assist with office duties (including computer and telephone skills), as needed, is a plus.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical fitness test and drug screen.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Will work in a bulk plant open air environment, with regular exposure to drilling fluids products, (including crude oils, gases, acids, and other oilfield chemicals), occasionally, in confined spaces; and to heat, humidity, inclement weather, and noise.
• Willingness to work additional hours during the week and/or weekend.
• Flexibility to work overnights every other month or as required.
• Overtime will be required to meet project deadlines.

• Monitors meters, gauges, temperatures, pressures, and related controls
• Plans and controls timing of operations
• Generates reports, graphs, and other data
• Ensures accurate proportions of batches following approved procedure
• Interprets complex drawings, diagrams, charts and specifications
• Performs complex work to close tolerances, high quality and accuracy
• Makes effective decisions relative to position requirements
• Evaluates operating process equipment and implantation to ensure constant compliance with standard manufacturing practices (SMP)
• Uses independent judgment in troubleshooting and problem solving under little/no supervision
• May develop weekly production plans coordinating resources (raw materials) and communicating relative priority to downstream parties
• Provides support to lead and/or supervisor when necessary
• May provide training support for on-boarding and/or new procedures
• May provide support on special projects
• Demonstrates the ability to follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• Must follow all Client housekeeping policies and procedures

Education/Experience:

• High School degree required with 2 years manufacturing experience required.
• Experience in a regulated environment required.

• Possess strong time management skills to complete assigned tasks in an accurate and timely manner
