Bulloch Academy history

In the fall of 1972, Bulloch Academy moved into its new facility and the school’s first headmaster, J. Rife English, was hired.

In the fall of 1976, the Academy’s Upper School complex was completed and consisted of an office area, a library, seven classrooms, a weight room, a physical education dressing room, and an art room, all of which were built around a gymnasium.

In 1978, Bulloch Academy’s first graduating class of eight students walked down the aisles of a school that began as the dream of one mother who wanted something different for her children.

She came to BA in 1982 and says “this school is my family and my life.”

-Masters in Education, Georgia Southern University Barbara is from Statesboro, GA. She began her career at BA in 1984 and loves that the school is family-oriented.

She came to BA in 1987 and loves working with a great faculty and staff.

She has taught at BA since 1989 and loves the friendships she has made through the years.

She came to BA in 1997 and loves the family atmosphere of the school.

In 1998, plans were put in motion for a nearly $2 million building project which included a six-classroom addition to the lower school, a new gymnasium, a state-of-the-art media center, an athletic fieldhouse, and other major renovations.

She has taught at BA since 2000 and loves the family atmosphere.

She came to BA in 2001 and loves her BA family.

She has taught at BA since 2002 and says, “Bulloch Academy is home.

-MFA, SCAD Vanessa is from Savannah, GA. She has taught at BA since 2004.

She has taught at BA since 2005.

She came to BA in 2006 and loves the family atmosphere at our school.

She has taught at BA since 2008 and loves the caring, family atmosphere.

In 2009, a three-room science laboratory was developed and built in the upper-school for use by middle and high-school students.

-Masters in Early Childhood Education, Walden University Kristin is from Brooklet, GA. She came to BA in 2010 and loves getting to work with all the students from pre-k through 12th grade.

Lauderdale, FL. She has taught at BA since 2013 and loves the family environment at our school.

-Masters in Early Childhood, Georgia Southern University Ashley is from Columbus, GA. She has taught at BA since 2014 and loves working with students of all ages.

She has taught at BA since 2015 and says that working with 1st grade is a blessing.

She began teaching at BA in 2016.

She came to BA in 2017 and the family atmosphere is what she loves most about working at BA
