Bumped CEO and leadership

David Nelsen is the Founder and CEO of Bumped. He was the co-founder and President of Giftango, LLC a leading digital and mobile e-gifting technologies company. Giftango was acquired by InComm in December of 2012 and now operates as a wholly owned subsidiary. A visionary and entrepreneur, Nelsen’s first introduction to digital content was with secure streaming of multi-media back in the early days of digital music. He has filed 8 patents in fields ranging from music streaming to digital payments and stored value.

I approach my life and career with respect and humility. Currently the Chief Operating Officer at Bumped Inc. An innovative company on a mission to build lasting relationships by rewarding customers with ownership in the companies they love. I was the co-founder, CTO, and COO of Giftango Corporation, a successful tech start-up, pioneering digital gift cards. Prior to Bumped and Giftango, I managed engineering and operations teams at industry leading technology organizations such as Tektronix, Xerox, and Microsoft.

I graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration majoring in Management of Information Technology and International Business. Later earning a Masters of Science focusing on Management of Science and Technology at Oregon Health Sciences University.

Dave has a proven track record in delivering new and innovative products, focused on revenue growth for industry leaders including Nike, Yahoo!, and WebMD, and for smaller companies such as Headspace and Fiberlink. A veteran of Silicon Valley, Dave has 20+ years working in software and technology, with a focus on Consumer Internet, mobile, and enterprise SaaS platforms.

Dave holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from Stanford University, and his abilities span to work well with both technical and business-focused teams.
